Wooooo
What an amazing morning! I had my sister's boyfriend take the pics and he did a wonderful job of getting the back of my head in frame in each pic, but you get the idea of what's going on :)

Many years! How does it feel?
Just amazing. This has been one of the best days of my entire life. I was really touched by the number of people who came to welcome me into the Church. I've never had an experience like this before. Receiving Holy Communion was wonderful. On top of that I still smell like chrism, which is pleasant ;)

Congratulations Mike, I trust everything is in its place...
And thanks for the pics-neat to see.
(Having never seen a pic of an Orthodox communion I have to say that's a really big spoon-sorta approaching ladle dimension!)

Thanks so much everyone. My buddy Yves put together this Quicktime presentation as something of a gift for me. What a great friend. Please offer a prayer for him if you would and check out the little movie he made.

Congratulations!!!
I was alone in the church (Menlo Park, CA) with the priest, so no one took any pics.

If I am correct it's a Taize Chant called 'Ubi Caritas ' very easy to sing and it harmonises well. The Taize Community have a lot of these and young folk seem to take naturally to them

Congratulations and welcome to the Church!
It seems like we have the same patron saint, Michael the Archangel, so we are kind of "related". ;)
Looking at other people's chrismation pictures makes me sort of wish I had pictures from mine, but I didn't think about it at the time, and besides, I've never seen pictures taken either at any other chrismations over here, so I guess it's not so common. At least I'm not the only one without any chrismation pictures... :)

It's a Taize chant, yes. Here are the words and translation:
UBI caritas et amor, Deus ibi est.
Congregavit nos in unum Christi amor.
Exultemus, et in ipso iucundemur.
Timeamus, et amemus Deum vivum.
Et ex corde diligamus nos sincero.
WHERE charity and love are, God is there.
Christ's love has gathered us into one.
Let us rejoice and be pleased in Him.
Let us fear, and let us love the living God.
And may we love each other with a sincere heart.
UBI caritas et amor, Deus ibi est.
Simul ergo cum in unum congregamur:
Ne nos mente dividamur, caveamus.
Cessent iurgia maligna, cessent lites.
Et in medio nostri sit Christus Deus.
WHERE charity and love are, God is there.
As we are gathered into one body,
Beware, lest we be divided in mind.
Let evil impulses stop, let controversy cease,
And may Christ our God be in our midst.
UBI caritas et amor, Deus ibi est.
Simul quoque cum beatis videamus,
Glorianter vultum tuum, Christe Deus:
Gaudium quod est immensum, atque probum,
Saecula per infinita saeculorum. Amen.
WHERE charity and love are, God is there.
And may we with the saints also,
See Thy face in glory, O Christ our God:
The joy that is immense and good,
Unto the ages through infinite ages. Amen.
