View Full Version : Take the Quiz...
KEPLER

There is a quiz on belief.net which tried to pigeonhole people into various faiths. (There is short discussion about it over at OBOB). The quiz is here:
http://beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html
If you want to take the quiz, DON'T goto OBOB and read the results first! There are spoilers about questions. When you're done, post the results here.
Unfortunately, the results don't make a distinction between various Protestants, except for Liberal/Conservative. However, I think the higher the RC/EO score is is a reflection of amore liturgical and historic church. (I think...)
Here are my results.
1. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (http://www.beliefnet.com/story/80/story_8029_1.html) (100%) 2. Eastern Orthodox (http://www.beliefnet.com/story/80/story_8033_1.html) (99%) 3. Roman Catholic (http://www.beliefnet.com/story/80/story_8030_1.html) (99%) 4. Orthodox Quaker (http://www.beliefnet.com/story/80/story_8037_1.html) (91%) 5. Seventh Day Adventist (http://www.beliefnet.com/story/80/story_8036_1.html) (89%) 6. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (http://www.beliefnet.com/story/80/story_8028_1.html) (70%) 7. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (http://www.beliefnet.com/story/80/story_8035_1.html) (62%) 8. Orthodox Judaism (http://www.beliefnet.com/story/80/story_8053_1.html) (59%) 9. 76% SDA? There is NO WAY! I considered the SDA church for a short period in my life. . .went there. . .helped there. . .learned much about their doctrine and beliefs. ..NOPE.
This test is silly. It doesn't work well and it has some pretty poor and pretty poorly worded questions.
Fun, though. Yes.

You know there is something wrong with the test when someone comes up "53% Unitarian Universalist"...
How do you get 53% Universalist? Fuzzy logic.
"Sure, we're inclusive....but only partially..."

I don't remember which one it was, but there was one going around a while back that was more specific, LCMS and ELCA were a couple of the possible outcomes. I'll see if I can find it.

In the 2nd quiz, how did you answer questions 7 & 18? Your high-med-low levels affect things pretty significantly, too.
K
#7 - Disagree, High importance
#18- Disagree, Medium importance.
This question I took in light of one's justification and not so much in the sense of practical theology, although in a practical sense I do feel tradition plays a role.

The first test:
1. Eastern Orthodox (100%)
2. Roman Catholic (100%)
3. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (89%)
4. Seventh Day Adventist (83%)
5. Orthodox Quaker (76%)
6. Orthodox Judaism (65%)
7. Islam (59%)
8. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (58%)
9. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (52%)

I find it interesting how the non-Christian Mormons, Judaism, and Islam all ranked above Liberal Protestants.^_^ I guess that tells volumes about where they stand.

Hmmm.... according to Beliefnet, I'm supposed to be 100% 7th-Day Adventist, while the second quiz ranks SDA way down at 18. I think I believe the second quiz more than the first (no offense to my Adventist brothers and sisters :)).
