Do people really understand this? I am learning exactly what that means. But when I ask if people really understand this...I mean do people really understand the roots of where their beliefs hail from? I've recently become aware of how paganism has been intertwined with true Christianity. It's scary. So if anyone wants to truly "come out of her" as Yaweh commands us to, I think it's important to know what it is we believe in.

Oh yes, I do so believe this too and it started with Constentine when he wanted everyone to be Christians and the true church began to tolorate and celebrate peagan beliefs to make everyone happy. Here on this site I read in a lot of forums and the differences...."wow" It is all confusing. Before I came here I was a pretrty down to earth Bible reading, praying, worshiping, simple little Christian.. Know I learn"if I believe one thing I am titled ">>>>>" and if I take my communion another way I am ">>>>>" I learned that the words in the Bible don't mean what they say, It is very confusing...
For awhile I thought I belonged to several different forums, then I thought I didn't belong to any...because I didn't hold to everything the said. WOW confusing.

But Jesus did say "come out of her" in Revelations....(Which is another book everybody interprets differently.}

And I agree. But to do that we must "study to show ourselves approved...a workman properly dividing the word of Truth"

Maybe we need one more forem... a "Come out of her..." forum where we can investigated beliefs we have held for years and determine if they are true and how to worship God and serve him accorfing to His instructions...love Pony

You do realize that most of the supposed "pagan" practices that mixed with Christianity were well entrenched long before Constantine legalized Christianity. Veneration of Mary, venerating saints and relics, the belief in the real body and blood being present in the eucharist, iconagraphy and bishops and the priesthood all existed before him.

yes, I am aware of this...which is why I suggested compiling our information.. and researching further to perhaps find what was pagan in origion and adopted by our Faith. I realize this would go way back into the old testament.

My question would be, what was made clean that was previously unclean by Christ's coming
Act 10:11 and he beholdeth the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great sheet, let down by four corners upon the earth:

Act 10:12 wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts and creeping things of the earth and birds of the heaven.

Act 10:13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill and eat.

Act 10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common and unclean.

Act 10:15 And a voice came unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, make not thou common.

Act 10:16 And this was done thrice: and straightway the vessel was received up into heaven.

Act 10:17 Now while Peter was much perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men that were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood before the gate,

But "she" is something that these forums try to protect. You are not allowed to call someone out of "her" (if you Biblically identify her) because this forum tries to unite everyone into "her."

"uniting all Christians as one body"

I think it's important to know what it is we believe in.

I think it is very important too. I believe everything that the Christian Creed of Nicea says.

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, and born of the Father before all ages. God of God, light of light, true God of true God. Begotten not made, of one Being with the Father, by whom all things were made.

For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit He became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
He was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, suffered and was buried; and the third day rose again according to the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of the Father. He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, and of His Kingdom there shall be no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father, who together with the Father and the Son is to be adored and glorified, who spoke by the Prophets. And in one holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the remission of sins. And I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

As the song by Third Day says, it's what makes me what I am.

the "she" I was thinking of was the whore of Babylone. What makes you think that people who profess to be christians are not a part of Babylon?

Well, there are Believers in "Babylone" being confused by the whoredom of Babylone."

There are three women in Revelation....The Mother...Those who began as the pure Church...THe whore of Babylon who I believe to be the palluted Church with Christians and non-Christians (those who practice and introduced foriegn ideas into the church) and the bride of Christ ..those who are purified and come out of "her" and become the Bride of Christ...So I believe all three women are the same woman, the church, and different stages of groth...I have scriptures to prove what I say But is it long....Pony

"My question would be, what was made clean that was previously unclean by Christ's coming
Act 10:11... " (end of quote)

In Acts 10 you see the first "Gentile" convert. (Cornelius) "What was made clean" are the Gentiles. This chapter, in contex, is talking about the Gentile believer. We have a picture here in chapter 10 that tells the Jewish convert that God is ALSO including the Gentile for salvation in the New Covenant.
When Peter went down he took six (ex-Jews, now Christians) witnesses with him. They returned and spoke of all the things that God did with the Gentile Cornelius. Peter tells the group with him that "God is no respector of persons", Acts 10:34 (Jew or Gentile) and while Peter was talking, the Holy Spirit fell on the Gentiles "just at it did the Jew." (Acts 10:45). Verse 45 says they were "astonished"... Now they knew God was also dealing with the Gentile in this New Covenant. Praise His Name!!!

I am truly interested in your definition of "pagan ideas".

If you are looking for a list of contraversal celebrations and traditions now celebrated by the Christian Church that were once "Pegan"... You won't get it in this thread,at least from me. I believe how you celebrate and worship God is between you and God. There are more important issues.

My defination of pegan is non-Christian.. When Jesus was here He gave us 2 commandmrnts . One was to Love the Lord thy God with your whole being and to serve no others...the 2nd being to love your neighbor as your self. And it is written "You can tell they are Christians by their Love...."

If you go to Church for the sound of their music..you are not worshiping God you are going for entertainment...not that there is anything wrong with music..

If you go to a Church because all the society people go there..you are goinging for vainity....

If you go to church because they support your political, views you are not going to worship God you are going for strength for a politicakl issue...

THere are a lot of reasons people go to a particular church, other then to Worship God and they bring ideas that polute the sanctuary of God...

Read thew letters Jesus told John to write to the 7 Churches in Revelations,,(first couple of Chapters)

And Jesus said "to come out of "Her" Babylon.. the paluted cburch.. the whore church...let your love and devotion shine and not get drug down by the world.

These are my ideas on the subject. I would like to hear yours..love, Joyce
