Just wanted to say to some not all of you that the title at the top of the page is a joke.
Most people on this sight would rather point fingers and argue then start a prayer chain or share there testiomony or maby they get there kicks pickin on people that may not be there mirror twin in thought.
So thank you for bein a great witness to none Christians that may surf the forums im sure they love to see it all

I agree. I have done it somewhat myself. "They shall know us by our love" is not something taken into consideration. I hope we can be respectful and loving toward each other and not spiteful. I think I can do what I do, but do it in a less "confrontational" tone.

NO! You're wrong!! I'm the one that's right! Because *enter mis-quoted scripture here* And furthermore my ego is large, but needs to grow bigger so I will confound you with my vast knoweledge of all things of which I speak! *enter more twisting of scripture* I will then use extremely large words (like THE) to prove my point that my opinion is superior...plus it makes me look like...real smart.

A forum couldn't ever really unite believers anyway. It's only love that can, and is supposed to, do that.

Love can be displayed here though.

We don't have to take disagreements so deadly seriously anyway. We don't get to actually see one another, so obviously we're more free to spill our vile guts and say what we really mean. If nothing else, it's quite honest in here, I think.

Just go into any of the denominational forums.

The OP is right on.

I must add though, take a look at Cyber Corps- Salvation Army, hardly any bickering at all, you have to hand it to those folks.

I wouldn't really want to unite with the ccatholics unless they can prove to me that there is nothing wrong with there church....Well, then I can't see how you could possibly unite with any denomination at all, ever...

Unity doesn't mean agreement. Unity has to do with love and family ties, not doctrine. So I'm free to pray and worship with absolutely whoever I want. We must look for love, and extend it. Love covers a multitude of sins, and if your love isn't strong enough to cover the sins of the catholics you agree with, I dare say you need more of it, and the place to get it is from God. Let Him love you, man. Let Him show you what grace is really about, how dependent you are on His grace, that it's not doctrine that saves you, but Jesus. :)

I agree with you on that one. Love is going to unite us. Well God is love. If we believe scripture to be His Word then His Word is telling us something. The debates on here tend to be about our different view of distinctives. It is the essentials that unite us in Christ. It is the main and plain things of scripture that we can agree upon in general. We are united in Christ on these things. If we don't have essentials then we might as well pray with JW's, mormons, and Hindus. There has to be a standard of fellowship and unity. I am not saying I have "the answer" to Christian unity, but I think the Word of God is a unifer and Christ uses it through the Holy Spirit to keep us, the Body in check and to have us love our brothers/sisters in Christ and esteem others higher than ourselves in service and prayer.

It's a hurtful truth.
I'm sure God would just love to see this.

This is like saying we should pray with hindus.... meh .... W/e , I wish I could love as much as you could ....Oh, you can. Just remeber that (in my experience anyway) you cannot share love that you haven't been given - to love your neighbour you must first let yourself be loved by God.

And why not pray with a hindu? Even if you believe he's way off and that his prayers are useless, why not let your half of the total be real? Why not go to catholic mass, why not dance with the pentecostals, why not have communion with a protestant, wine with a liberal and juice with a baptist, and worship on saturday with an SDA?

You're young, be open, don't close your heart like I did. God has had to pry it open again, and it hurts sometimes. Let love rule, step by step, little by little, bless your friends and your enemies too, let it spread and catch on, and someday people will see us and know we are children of God.
