View Full Version : This is why I get frustrated with fellow brothers/sisters at times!

Hi,
I am feeling sooooooo  at the moment and needed somewhere to vent my "grrrr" so I do apologise in advance. I also didn't know where I should post this (if at all), so I chose here!
Anyway, after the creation of my new website (a Christian news site) I decided to submit the site to others for a link.
I won't name names here (I'm bigger than that, although I'm tempted!) but I got such a rude reply back from a webmaster of a Christian site. Names have been removed, so I'm gonna post their relpy.
"You didn't read a word on the *** site, did you?
If you did, you would KNOW that I don't associate with the likes of you"
(I've removed their site name by replacing with ***)
I mean! C'mon! The site I have is a news site! It's Christian! It's pro-Christian, no attacks made on Jesus, God, etc. There maybe things included that not all Christians would agree on, but hey! Whats new! The site I asked to be submitted on attacks elements of Christianity themselves!
I felt like saying back that maybe they didn't read my site!
But all this from a fellow bro/sis in Christ? There are nicer ways to say "no".
This just really winds me up.
Where has all the respect gone from our Christian church (and by church here I mean the body of Christ, regardless of denomination).

You are going about this all wrong.
Meek does NOT mean weak. The bible version of meek and the american version are two totally different things. Many christians have the habit of thinking that MEEK means you are a human doormat.
That's not the case...this guy is supposibly running a Christian site...his attitude is in the wrong and needs an adjustment. Be forceful, but not rude and tell him he must not have read your site and that if he had..he would have found in his heart of hearts that it is something that should be added and that his attitude is not befitting of someone who claims to be a Christian.
The whole "meek is weak" attitude is an infection in today's Christianity...remember..Jesus was strong.

You're right. As a human, I was angry as the site that I am producing obviously means a lot to me and this was really my first feedback about it! I've calmed down (lol).
I'm not going to reply to him, I just feel that it's not worth it. He is entitled to his point of view and if thats how hes going to judge my site, then I really don't need his support anyway :P
I've been able to show my site to a few others now and they love it, so I'm happier! Thanks :)
The other thing that gripes me though is the fact that other brothers and sisters in Christ are so quick to judge and dismiss others (and I sadly have fallen into that category too, trying not to though!).
You can look everywhere online (this forum sadly included) and in public and you see Christians attacking other Christians.
It's times like these when I want to scream "can't we all just get along!" lol

Just because they claim to be Christian....does not mean that they are converted.

Richard, Use your mouse pointer to left click on Sixy's name in her post. A drop down menu appears. Left click on "View Sixy's Homepage".

FYI you may want to change the contrast on your site, some of the text is quite hard to read.
Example from your logo
http://christianity.rinf.com/graphics/images/banner_03.gif
The Light text on the Light background makes it hard to read, and with it being an GIF, they can't hilight it to read, and with no ALT Text, any text reader can't read what the img is about.

Thanks for your suggestion Quantos. :) The whole point of that image is to look more like a watermark than an actual image. although it's my fave scripture quote, it isn't meant to stand out from the rest of the text.

I do not know how much exposure you have to "Christians", but what happened to you is very, very, mild. And I am not downgrading the event, you are just in your hurt and frustration.
But I assure you, "you ain't seen nothing yet"...
I have lived among fifteen different cultures. Lived in five different countries, and have been blessed with a few good friends.
I assure you of this: "Christians" or those who come in Jesus name, are the most vile, hurtful, lieing, back-stabbing, ET....of any "sub-culture" of people I have ever engaged.
So sad, so sad.
MATT 5:44, But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; (KJV)

I am very sad to read this but "I assure you of this:" Accepting Christ as your savior does not make you a better person not even in God's eyes. Not one person not even a christians deserve God's grace. If just being a christian was good enough to make us better and godly people our savior would not have been needed.
