Sorry if this belongs somewhere else so maybe it will be moved shortly. But could somebody tell me what the "Aposlistic?" Churches believe. I live just a few miles from one, but have never met anyone that goes there or seems to know:confused: So could somebody help me out here.

Thanx
Gc

I think it's "Apostolic" you're thinking of. I have a friend who goes to an Apostolic Pentecostal church, and if I remember correctly by what he's told me, they pretty much just teach the Apostles teaching, since they were called to start the churches and whatnot. So to say Apostolic is to say that the teachings are what the apostles taught.

Hmm Im still not sure I get the teaching what the disciples taught. Could you possibly elaborate more?

There are different Apostolic churches, they don't all teach and believe the same things. There are some, like one in my area, where the women must wear skirts or dresses, no pants allowed, and can never cut their hair. I'm not sure the Biblical basis, but we play in a softball league with them, and the poor women have to run bases with their long skirts, it's very hard for them to do.
There are other Apostolic churches that teach about speaking in tongues, but they must listen to your prayer language so they can determine whether it is from God or not. A friend of mine had that experience at one, and she wondered how they could tell, that's Gods' decision. She tried to get in a discussion about it with the pastor, but he gave her the runaround, she never went back.
I don't know if those are the only 2 or not, but that's been the experiences in my area.

I wondered if they weren't more fundamental/conservative style. I just never seem to here much from them or about them.
