Luther liked to say we should love and fear God. In your opinion, what does it mean to fear God?

To fear him is to honor him, respect him, hold his majesty in awe. To know that he could destroy you for the sins you commit daily, but because of what his son accomplished on the cross he instead gives you mercy and grace on account of Jesus.

Hello Excellent Question...

King Solomon said that "Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.", so for me to fear God means to stand in awe of His Majesty and profound wisdom.And it means for me to try and avoid sin and temptation out of respect and healthy fear of the Holiness of the Lord Jesus Christ. It means having respect and desire to obey and meditate upon God's statutes and decrees in the Psalms in my heart.
