How Important is witnessing and post your witnessing ideas

Please post your thoughts on why you think witnessing is important and how you may witness to others so many servents of Christ would have a few ideas and tips for each other

Jesus said "...you will be witnesses of me...". A witness is one who testifies to something he has experienced or seen. Simple share, as the opportunity is presented, what God has done for you and be certain you are living what you believe.

Do NOT become a "holier than thou" religionist who tries to make people think he is better by talking about how "offended" they are because someone is swearing, smoking, drinking, telling off-color jokes or whatever. Treat everyone as Jesus would - with His love.

Being a witness isn't something you do, but who you are.

Being a witness means just that...you are to tell people what God has done for you. You are a witness to how he is with you. It is not complicated. God does not require that we tell only those that will listen. He just requires that we tell. Everyone has a story and everyone has a God moment that they can tell others about. Someone will come to Christ as a result of each of our stories.... we may not know about it but a seed will definitely be planted... What is YOUR story???

Witnessing is very important. But as I always say "Love them for Jesus, not club them for Jesus". Basically earn the right to speak to them about Jesus. Your daily life, if it is walked in Christ, could earn you the right. Ask them if you could talk to them about thier faith, and then you can tell them about yours. And if they don't want to hear what you have to say, don't tell them. Jesus instructs us not to cast our pearls before the swine. If you try to beat it into them they will resent you and only get a bad view about Christains. Be patient!! If, at a later time, they wish to know more then they will know where to come.

When I tell people about situations I have been through, they always say, "How in the world did you deal with that?" or something to that effect :-) I just give all praise to God. I let people know what God has done for me in my life. People see me struggle with my flesh and when I do something or say something I shouldn't I repent, apologize, or whatever and I let them know quick that I am still growing in Christ. I am not perfect. People respond to that because many times they get scared like if they accept Jesus Christ all of a sudden they will be perfect when they know deep down that is not the case and they fear making mistakes. Well, hellllllllllooooo, we all make mistakes and they will continue to come as we grow into mature christians. My honesty about my walk with Christ is a witness.

I also love using Chick tracks. Everyone reads them and they are fun to leave wherever you go.
