Not really, but do realize that life on earth is a gift from Him and He's got stuff for you to do before you see Him face to face.

I used to want to die, and I tried a couple of times to hurry it up. Then I found The Reason For Living. And I was introduced to a song that is, as far as I'm concerned, incentive to die.
"This world is not my home, I'm just a-passin' through.
My treasures are laid up, somewhere beyond the blue.
The angels beckon me from Heaven's open door, and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
Oh Lord, you know I have no friend like you.
If Heaven's not my home, then Lord what will I do?
The angels beckon me from Heaven's open door and I can't feel at home in this world anymore!"

Seriously, though, after becoming a Christian I'd pray that He'd hurry back to get His people. Now, I pray that he won't hurry 'cuz I got work to do. I've got friends that don't know Him and won't be going with us. There's work to be done!

I understand exactly what you mean, Praising God for eternity...I can't wait. Dancing, singing, joyful shout to our Lord. So until that joyful day, I will continue the work God has for me on earth. Glory to God!!

I Corinthians 2:9, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him."

Revelation 21:3-4, "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

Romans 8:23 tells us we eagerly await the redemption of our bodies. That is the Spirit inside longing to be home. But while we're here, we must fulfill the race marked out for us. There is nothing wrong with longing to be clothed with the fulness of our salvation and the fulness of the righteousness that is in Christ. But we cannot allow that to become a stumbling block for our purpose here. Did I say right? Yes, we cannot allow our longings to be with Christ get in the way of the mission at hand.

I've heard the expression, "If we're too heavenly minded, we'll be no earthly good." I don't know so much about that because if I'm not heavenly minded, I won't be any earthly good.

In a sense, I'm already there! ;)

Ephesians 2:

4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,
5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

God bless, love Sue

It is not wrong.... we want to be where are heart is! But we have a reason for still being on this earth. IF we didn't God would have brought us home the moment we believed in Christ as our Lord and Savior. God does not want anyone to perish. Our whole reason for still being on this planet is to spread the Gospel and bring as many people to heaven with us as possible. Until we have all that are going to be going...Christ will not return. Think of all those people that you love and care for that do not have Christ as their lord and savior...they are going to hell! Do you want that?? Christ is giving us time to change their minds. Praise God!

Is this wrong?I don't think so.That sounds like the kind of faith that is required for salvation. It's the love of God you are talking about.I often feel the same.I'm in his hands and I'll take what comes. But there's nothing here that I can't do without,I'd go today, gladly.

No, this desire is not wrong. The apostle Paul expressed this desire in Philippians 1:21-24 ...

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you. (NKJV)

for easy reference:

(Phi 1:21) For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

(Phi 1:22) But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.

(Phi 1:23) For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

(Phi 1:24) Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

I think like Saint Paul, you are in a "straight betwixt the two". It is far better to be with Christ, yet He has us here for His purpose. I feel this earnest and intense desire to be with Jesus often. Tell Him that you long for Him, and then tell Him that while you live you will yet serve Him, and then surrender completely to Him. I would like to recommend Michael Card's song Joy in the Journey. I think it will speak to you.

Amen! This is why all of us are still here! While I look forward to my life in heaven....I also look forward to seeing who God will shape me to be! I always tell myself "Gods timing" Its my motto!

Thank you. I went and looked up and read the whole passage and it encouraged and comforted me.

It doesn't matter if you praise Him here or in Heaven because God is everywhere. However longing to go home is not wrong, hence my CF name (Longing4Home). Trying to get there before you are to go is wrong.

God's peace,
