When I was in high school the Mormon church is the only place I was welcomed and accepted. I was the class geek (ADHD) and found that most of the ppl who thrashed on me where at the big youth group at the local comm church (small town) and I was NOT welcome there.

What I do know about the LDS is that in a time of crisis they take care of there own :groupray:and for the most part I have not seen that in the body of Christ that is suppost to do His will.

There are times that I long for that sence of belonging :groupray:that I found there but I know that they worship a different Jesus that is not biblical.

These forums have helped some and I am thankful for that.

What say you?!

I understand. When I was in high school, all of myclose friends were Mormon, and I just loved how "clannish" they were. I almost converted my freshman year of college, partly because I missed that.

I wish more churches had that, and it's one of the things that makes me pray for a more united church.

And, yeah, I love CF, too. :)

I know what you are saying and I agree with how the Mormons take care of their own, but...

A Big But. There is no salvation in their organization. God is the ultimate provider of all things. God will give you a circle of friends and a family that will count for eternity. The Mormons will give you a circle of friends as long as you stay Mormon, but in the end they will leave you without God and Jesus.

Better to have a little with God than a lot with a very large cult.

The Mormon "God" is a man who became God thru spiritual evolution. Their Jesus is also a man who became hot stuff through his own works. BTW Satan is a brother of Jesus per Mormon theology. Same stuff and equal. This is not of the Bible.

I was raished Mormon...They are nice to you when your one of them..but the minute you start asking questions they start turning thier backs on you...saying things like you need to pray for answer or you should already know them...had them accuse me of not having my faith be strong enough once because I couldn't answer a question of thiers.

This is very true...if you don't tow the line in all the areas that are important to them they will shun you. I too wish the body of Christ were as you say a little more clanish-chummy like the way it was for us in the LDS. That friendliness, even though it's human powered and will get to the end of it's fuel, is why Mormonism continues to grow so fast. Ppl want to be accepted and loved and for some reason it seems that once someone gets saved, you find yourself having to fend for yourself and ppl for the most part don't care if you feel loved or accepted in the body of Christ.

My children (17,20,22) refuse to go to church because of how tight the clicks get and that ppl could careless whether or not you are there. It makes it hard for me to even want to try anymore. Seems that your value is based on all the things the world says are important.

Anyway, there's no going back to it...just would be nice to fit in...this place (CF) seems to be populated by folks that understand the power of love and acceptance.:groupray:
