I just got this book today and started reading it. It is wonderful. Anybody got any input about it.
It definitely receives my reccomnnendation.

His thoughts are inspiring, he gives good explanation, and a clear picture of the fact that he despises his sinful behaviour (though not at the time)...
I love the way it is written!

I do to. He writes it as a fellow person. Not as a saintly exalted theologian. I love it. And the way he despises his sin.

I have yet to read confessions, didn't know of it until the other day actually.
Has anyone read his book The City of God?
I have personally not read it yet but I have heard it is another classic.

No, I haven't read it. I have heard of it, but don't think that I have ever seen it is a store.

It is one of the best books I've ever read. I have never seen more sheer humility and honesty. Plus, the man is a genius. Definitely one of the best books a Christian can read besides the Bible.

i read it years ago. I remember i really enjoyed the way it was written.

For those of you who are very familiar with it, I have a question. The version I got is published by a Protestant group, Hendrickson Christian Classics. I am not criticizing it because it is Protestant, but are there other translations that might be better?
