View Full Version : ANNOUNCEMENT regarding Nov. 15 list

Hello all....

We have been absolutely inundated with requests lately. Before, our policy has always been to approve most and weed out some of the potentially less popular or unacceptable items. However, we need to change it for at least this one go-round.

For the Nov. 15 list of items under consideration, MightyHalo and I will pick approximately 20 from that list to approve. The rest will not be approved. We are doing this for a couple of reasons:

#1 - We are still trying to finish up the Nov. 1 list, and have many items left to do
#2 - We are trying to avoid burnout in our Team Members.
#3 - Cuz we're big meanies

Ok....not really...but things just work better in threes. ;)

We are not sure if this will be standard procedure for just this go-round, or if we will extend it indefinitely. With the holidays coming up, we may do it for a while now. We appreciate your understanding on this issue and know that many of you can and do appreciate the enormous amount of time and effort that goes into the armory each day.

Hugs-n-mush

Miss Libby Cross-eyed Chic

y'all would have SO much less work if people would actually follow the suggestion (rule!?) of only one submission per week... some people are submitting sooooo much!

*hugs* to all the armory team... y'all are awesome!

well I hope you don't burn out too much, I have done a good number myself but am going to be inactive for around 3 weeks now, hope I have been some help, take care and if you don't get them all done, don't worry it is not the end of the world, just close off the requests for a short time :p

i feel for you, Domi, I really do.
it just took me 7 re-boots to even get this thread to load tonight so i could read it! no other problems anywhere else on CF except this one thread.

and yea, i liked the stuff that got denied too.

Part of the unpleasant part of doing this is that we do have to deny requests. If items that were created and just needed to be uploaded were denied, they were denied on their own merit (i.e., they did not meet one of the qualifications we have listed). Because we have such an incredible team of exceptionally talented people, the bar has been raised considerably on quality. If anyone truly wants constructive criticism on an item that was created, you may either request such in the original thread, and I will offer my honest opinion there, or you may PM me with the link, and I will, again, offer my honest opinion via PM. Please be sure you are the actual creator of the item. I will not give CC to just any one person that requests it for any old item.

For those who don't know, constructive criticism is just that.....constructive. One would never say, "That item just sucks" because this is not constructive. ;) However, one might say something like, "Do you see that series of stray pixels over here?" Or, "It appears you took a pre-existing picture and reduced it, and the quality is rather fuzzy. Try doing it this way next time..." would be more appropriate.

While I do not have time to tutor privately, there are many people here who are willing to answer questions. Please post your inquiries and so forth in the Armory Forum and designers who know a particular program will answer your questions as they can.

....i really think we should help out by not requesting so many items..... then they wouldn't have to pick just 20

Agreed kennedychick...

My own personal opinion (that I'm sure nobody else will agree with LOL) is that if you request more than one item (meaning you open more than one thread, or the stuff in your thread is not all related to each other) the subsequent items automatically get denied, but you'll have the opportunity to resubmit at a later time...

And that probably did not make sense at all 'cuz I just woke up LOL

i think they have their reasons for suggesting only one item per person per week.
