"But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God."
I don't know how many times I've read through the Gospels, but there's always something new each time I go through them. This particular verse just struck me after I read it this week.
What I can see through this verse is that there is going to be alot of people who believe in the living God, but would have no clue if His Son was standing right in front of them. They swore to God, but didn't recognize that God was standing right there! Scary stuff.
I mean how sad is this, that when some of us get to heaven how surprised are we going to be to see people we thought were lost, and then turn around and be more surprised not to see someone we thought surely was going? That is what I conclude from this verse, so I thought I would share it.
"Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."
