Hey y'all!
I have been "unchurched" for some time following the onset of my father's illness. I have attended Southern Baptist churches and was baptized in one. What I'm looking for is a church that has an "integrated" (racially-mixed) congregation, practices the Sacraments/Eucharist/Lord's Supper (or whatever word might be appropriate), includes music other than just the traditional hymns. Even though my mother is a "Southern Baptist for Life" type of person, I'd like to experience something different. Since it has been a few years since I have last been to church, the SBC may have changed somewhat, so I do not wish to discount them, if they fit my desired criteria. Can anyone enlighten me concerning the various denominations/churches?

Thanks very much!

I can't make a positive recommendation, but would warn you about the purpose-driven types. The new doctrines seem right at the beginning, but after analyzing the PDC I'd tell you to be careful about them and check everything you hear there with Scripture. They are supposed to have a more fun atmosphere than the more traditional churches that Warren disapproves of, but as to their doctrine, I'd say you should not go in unless you can discern at least somewhat.
