Just wanted to share from my daily Bible reading.
It just struck me of how alone Jesus was even with his disciples.
Even his disciples did NOT really understand him and his ultimate purpose.
At this point they were amazed at miracles he performed.
And then the town people who wanted him to leave after sending demons into the pigs.
I am sure they were scared of Him. Kind of funny knowing what we know.

:)

Scripture Read: Matthew 8:18-34 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%208:18-34%20;&version=31;)

This scripture lets us see how alone Jesus was.
And how he was misunderstood.

20 Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests,
but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."

26 He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?"
Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27 The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this?
Even the winds and the waves obey him!"

30 Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding.
31 The demons begged Jesus, "If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs."
32 He said to them, "Go!" So they came out and went into the pigs,
and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water.
33 Those tending the pigs ran off, went into the town and reported all this,
including what had happened to the demon-possessed men.
34 Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus.
And when they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.

Sometimes I don't think we think that during his daily-life Jesus really "hurt" the same way we do... that somehow He had some sort of "special" humanity when He walked this earthly path.

Sometimes I think we believe that we, too, should be "special" and never hurt or feel alone...

I really believe, though, that the "hurts" of Jesus, as well as our own "hurts" serve a greater purpose... otherwise, why would we be told to "rejoice" in our sufferings?

Yeah I get caught up in thinking that Jesus never felt any of the pain that we face today. I mean I know he was crucified and beaten. But he went through everything that we do. Sometimes I don't feel like running to Him because I feel ashammed or scared when he probably has felt the same way during His time here.
I mean not everyone back then knows what we know now. THe persecution had to be huge on Him. We all need to sit back and remember that He was human. He felt the hurts and saw through human eyes our pain. He shed a tear for Mary when Lazarus died. We have to learn to trust Him more because he will lead us from temptation and evil. But we must believe in Him. Easier said than done because of our human nature. I struggle with this on a daily basis. It upsets me when I do choose to be stubborn and then later on have to confess that sin and ask for forgiveness. Gods grace and mercy are so huge because who else could put up with our faults on a constant basis. Thank you God. Amen.

Yes, makes your heart ache to think that even Jesus felt alone, at least in the Human world.

And here is another account of Him being alone:

Matthew 26: 36-46
The Prayer in the Garden

36 Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” 37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 38 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”
39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”
40 Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? 41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42 Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless[e (http://bible.gospelcom.net/passage/?book_id=47&chapter=26&version=50&context=chapter#fen-NKJV-24091e)] I drink it, Your will be done.” 43 And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.
44 So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. 45 Then He came to His disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.”

You are not alone in this fight my brother! I'm right there along side of ya! Same problem! Weak minded, weak flesh. If it weren't for His grace...
