Hey, I've not been on here in a while, been busy with school, but I have to share this with you.

Earlier in the year, I had this friend, Amanda. Well, she cut, smoked, and was suicidal, to say the least. She was also depressed. I witnessed to her a lot, everytime I was around her. Every day, "Did you cut?", "When's the last time you smoked?", "Have you thought any more about what I told you about Jesus?".

Everything was going fine until one day we got into a fight, a bad fight, as in no more talking, we're not friends anymore type fight. Well, school ended without us making up, she got sent to a group home, and everytime she was mentioned I turned icey. Well, last saturday, the one before halloween, she Imed me, she was home from the group home for the weekend. I kind of blew her off.

Later that day, my youth group went to a haunted trail. And, lo-and-behold, Amanda and her mom were at the same one. She kind of looked at me and I at her, not really believing it, til she ran at me and got me in a bear hug. We caught up on everything and we called my mom. She had missed Manda so much.

When we got off, I asked Manda if she realized so many people would miss her, she said no, almost crying. Then I asked her if she was glad she didn't do some of the things she wanted to do (suicide) she said no. "So, me bugging the crap outta you really helped some, huh?" She answered, "Lizzie, I'm not afraid to admit it now. You are the reason I'm still here. I've missed you so much. Including your continuous nagging. Thank you so much."

See, I've been having trouble with my devotions, that night, I realized that I had stopped doing them about the time me and Manda had started fighting. And now, for a week, I've done my devotions every day. I really believe that God ment for Manda and me to meet saturday night....It helped me and it rebuilt our friendship.

Sorry if this is too long, but thanks for reading...I just had to tell you guys about it.

What!? A Church youth group went to a haunted trail as entertainment? What church do you go to?

Umm, Dennyville baptist? My church isn't against halloween as many places are. It was just a good way for our youth group to get together. And one of the ones we went to was put on by a church.

The both of you are very much welcome. See, the bad part, is that I had completely given up on her...because she just, laid all this stuff on me...but wouldn't try to help me in any way, but I realize now, that I actually helped her more than I thought I did.. Thanks for taking the time to read. :)

Thanks for sharing the story my friend.
Very true & inspirational.
And that you took the time to do so.
We do need to stay faithful even if we don't feel like it.
Whatever the Lord says goes & rules.

That's great to hear about your friends. We don't understand why things happen but we still should be faithful in praying for others. You never know what might happened. I'm glad it turned out for you and your friend. :)

Yea, me too, the whole summer I acted as though she never existed...that we had never been friends...but that night, it was great. I realized how much I had missed her. I didn't realize the impact I had on her. It was amazing. And thank you all again for the responses.
