What do you think a progressive Adventist church would 'look' like?

Mate, the church would look exicting. it would be overwhelming, inviting. A place where i'd want to worship!
Im still trying to work out what it exactly might look like.

I guess it would be REAL, RELEVANT, fairly modern but NOT loosing Adventist doctrine as some of these modern churches seem to.

Yes amiel, i would agree. Yet Real and Relevant are words that are merely thrown around. What do they exactly mean? Many places(churches) have a passion for people, and are good at accomodating for them. Many Churches have a passion for God, but very few churches i believe have an outward passion for God. If your on fire for God people will come and watch you burn. It all depends on how much you want him, your passion for God is the Key. Its not just about the service it's about Church....

John 17:17 ¶Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20 ¶Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

A progressive Adventist church would be one that is united in Christ and filled with the Holy Spirit. God would be preforming miracles in the hearts and lives of the people. Let us progress to following Christ with our whole heart and we will be joined together as one. The world will then see our lights shine in the darkness.

Acts 2:1 ¶And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,

Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

Acts 8:6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 And there was great joy in that city.

The Holy Spirit works with great power when people put aside themselves and lift up Christ.

Philippians 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Your sister in Christ,
Lauri

What Lauri said:thumbsup:. The Word of God would be a living active thing in our lives; the Holy Spirit's power would be made manifest in all that we do for God's glory. I mean, just think about it! It's allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us, really guide us. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.

Hi, Progressive? Modern? I believe the adventist church Traditional or reformed will be what GOD wants it to be when we as His chldren surrender unconditionally to Him. When people see Jesus instead of us then the church will be like the disciples after penecost. When we are fully converted so that Christ lives in us and through us then we will be ready for Heaven.:groupray:
