ok, cool! I was just curious if my Sailor Moon items are considered or if I have to post an armor request for them in the armor requests forum... I know a few SM fans on CF who would be probably happy if these items were added :)

Star,I'm sure you were hoping that outfit would be Unisex, right?

*Starlight*
7th February 2006, 02:51 PM
well, I'm almost sure that if it's added, then it will be female only because Sailor Moon is a female ^_^ But if it's added as a generic item, then I'd love to see you wearing it!

Doesn't Sailor Moon have a male counterpart of some sort? (It's been years since I've seen any Sailor Moon stuff)

Veiled Viper

LC,won't you have to give it a generic name so that everyone won't want there favorite character added?

well, I haven't seen it for a long time too... The Sailors don't have male counterparts, but there is an important male character in the series who is Sailor Moon's boyfriend.

And there were also the Three Lights who were male, but who turned into female Sailor Starlights during transformation (and no, they don't have anything to do with my screen name :D)

Do you mean that it can't be called Sailor Moon outfit? But there is a Matrix background, and I don't think that Matrix is somehow less copyrighted than SM... :)

We usually check into how much "trouble" we might get into if using certain names. ;) This is why Disney stuff is major taboo, but others we can get away with. We also consider other factors when naming an item, as Knight mentioned. :)

*Starlight*
7th February 2006, 04:38 PM
Well, there's also Arwen's dress and hair style on CF... so why would Usagi be worse? ;)

I think that SM isn't Disney... it's a Japanese anime.

We'll come up with a workable name for it. :)

Vaneeza Malkah

well I guess anything is better than not having it at all :) plus you could leave a hint in the description.

ok, cool! :) But if the name Sailor Moon or Usagi Tsukino doesn't violate any copyrights, then it would be the best to use one of them :)

Veiled Viper
7th February 2006, 05:48 PM
Sailor M?

*Starlight*
7th February 2006, 05:50 PM
Sailor M?
Or maybe just Usagi? It's definitely not copyrighted because it's a Japanese word, and SM fans would recognize it easily :)

LibertyChic
7th February 2006, 05:51 PM
We could get away with something like, "Moonlight Sailor Outfit" or "Sailing the Moon," but can't/shouldn't use the original name.

LibertyChic
7th February 2006, 05:51 PM
What does the word "Usagi" mean?

*Starlight*
7th February 2006, 05:54 PM
Usagi means rabbit... The name Usagi Tsukino is a variation of "tsuki no usagi" which means the rabbit on the moon. :)

LibertyChic

Cool! So it could just be added as Usagi's Outfit, and it should have some description which points to Sailor Moon without mentioning the actual name... I'll try to think of something in a few minutes :)

And if the hair is added, it can be Usagi's Hair Style. :) And the third item probably can be called Moon Scepter... :)

The description can be "Be the Moon Princess" or something like that... Usagi Tsukino a.k.a. Sailor Moon was the reincarnated Princess Serenity from the Moon Kingdom :)

I still have troubles with knees though. >_<

Normally I use pixel editing for UML diagrams.. Which is much easier lol.

very nice!
here is my view: it nees shade on the pants,to make it more 3D,try the outer line darker colour, and blend it in,make the middle the lightest
add a few wrinkles to the clothes,to make it nmor enatural, and add shade to them

make sure the shield side is darker, and the sword sidehas highlights
when layering clothes,ad shade around ,so it looks deeper and layered

the shield arm is sort of behind the character,so basicly you shoul dsee the shoulder, arm is behind it
i hope this helps:hug:

here i quickly done a little shading, sorry for messing up your design, just to show you how to get to more 3D look

Add a new layer first, so you don't have to erase the character after you make your item.

Pick the pencil tool from the main gimp menu, pick a color by clicking the black color box on the main menu. And start drawing!

If the color doesn't show up right, it's probably because your file is indexed. You can change that on the Image menu. Click the Image menu, click Mode, and then click RGB.

RGB is good.

RGB is your friend.
