I know this might be long (maybe not) but please read!
Well ever since i moved to America about 5 1/2 years ago, i started going to a Baptist Church, where my dad was saved. I went there for about 3 1/2 years and i wasn't growing in God at all. The youth group was filled with teens who act one way at church and then another way at school. I became very insecure with myself. Later on about 1 1/2 yrs ago i started going to a youth group that was apart of an Assemblys of God church, and i was growing. I am thankful to this youth group, because God used it to help me grow. But now that i have more disernment, im starting to notice things in the AOG church that i don't agree with. So ive been going on Sundays to the Baptist church that i went to before (the two churches are across the street from eachother). Yet, they have a new service at the Baptist church for college aged students (but alot of youger kids and adults go to it to). I love it, the worship is awesome and they don't get to hyped up. They do things orderly, and yet im growing and learning so much. I feel like God sent me to the AOG church to help me grow in God, and is now sending me back to the Baptist church for a great reason. But i still sometimes go to the AOG youthgroup cause i have good friends there. I want to leave cause i think thats what God wants me to do, but i know my friends will get mad at me, since i was very active in the youth group. This is a very hard dissision for me. Also, when i tell them that im starting to go back to this Baptist church, they just change the subject. I know God is going to do something great but, its also just so confusing.

well i put my relationship with God above all others and do what helps me grow in him
i currently am part catholic and part baptist and part unknown i attend a southern baptist church/ youth group but also like attending a Catholic church and youth group i see positive and negatives on both sides, my biggest turn off though is when a denomination completly disrespects another out of malice and without secure reason for instance i once witnessed a baptist procede to lick his hand then wope his butt right bfore he mockingly did the sign of the cross, which if churches werent so afraid to discuss other dnominations openly he would have known that baptist actually do believe in the principles behind the sign of the cross. but yeah just stay with God and make sure your truely learning/growing in him where ever you are and i see nothing wrong with it

thanks! Somethimes i feel like i know the direction im going in, and then God leads me somewhere else. I thought the the AoG youth group that i go to, was the best youth group ever, but i now know its not. You can never find a perfect church. Yea, God sure does switch things up sometimes. I wish my friends could support me in my decision. Some of them make jokes up about the Baptist church i go to (making fun of it), and it bothers me. I mean the Baptist church, doesn't make fun of them. Im not putting down AOG's in general, its just the church that i go to, im beginning to see a lot of pride. Were all part of the body of christ, but sometimes we don't treat eachother like we all are.

oh yes def. like i enjoy the atmosphere mostly at the baptist church but i truely think the lessons for my age group are very poor and i seriously want more out of my teachings
you can never find a perfect church... thats why the Holy Spirit is here to guide us

Servant4God, I think you are finding out that God does move us around for different areas of our life. sometimes He does change us from one place to another in order to help us grow in different ways. Stay in His word and always pray for His guidance and He is sure to answer and lead you where He wants you for a time.

God does move us in different directions & areas.
Let the Lord guide and lead you.
Just be yourself and nobody else.
That is all the Lord wants you to be.

hey buddy i kinda know how you may feel. Im goin to two lutheran churches, one ev-free and another non denominational church. I would just say keep on letting your relationship with God be the most important thing. And with the whole denominations thing just dont let that become a major hinderance. I wonder what would happen if we didnt have denominations and we were all just brothers an sisters in Christ???? oh well just keep on being strong. God bless you ms servant4god :)

thanks prayer soulja and to all the rest of you. Its not as hard for me to break away from the AOG church anymore. Yesterday i had a girls bible study with some girls from the baptist church, and realized that, thats where i belonged, and that Gods going to use me there. Im finally realizing God's plan for me. A while back i couldn't see what he had for me, and was confused, but now it's becoming clear.

Assemblies of God isn't a bad church. In fact, God saved me through the work of a woman who attends an Assemblies of God church. That said, AOG teaches different doctrine than Baptists, and I personally think that it helps more for believers to get a consistent message. But hey, if you find that attending different churches builds your faith, then go for it. I certainly wouldn't tell you to resist the Holy Spirit.

We not just need peace but most of all, we need to have acceptance and full cooperation of what we need to do. :groupray:
