Should the communion be a time to celabrate our sins being forgiven or a time to mourn?

As with many things in Christianity, I feel it should be both. Sorrow for sins committed, but rejoicing because Christ has risen. Humility because we are unworthy to partake, but elation because Christ has called us to His table despite our failings. My best advice is act like you would if Jesus was the one handing communion to you at His marriage feast.
God Bless,

Since the flesh is still with us, even though we are in Christ, we need to reflect on what sins we have committed and be cleansed of them before taking Communion. During this time, we are remembering that Christ died for our sins and are thankful that we have been forgiven through His shed blood. This is where the joy part comes in.

I guess as above; room for sorrow over sins committed, which drove him to the cross, and offenses against his love and mercy, which even now spit in his face, yet triumphing over it all the grace that is greater than all my sins. In his broken body and shed blood is assurance of forgiveness and hope of salvation which cannot fail, for the risen Christ demonstrates that sin's power is broken, death is swallowed up in life, and nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God, therefore we rejoice with unspeakable joy. Above all, awe at the greatness of the mercy of this amazing God who, for all my unworthiness, rebellion and failure, gave himself to bring me back to him, and now calls me his beloved child and welcomes me to feast at his table with the whole company of the saints!

Anthony, that was beautifully written, thank you. God's grace and love for us is truely overwhelming.

Our past present and future sins were already forgiven the moment we believed. So for me, communion is the time to remember this -- that I'm still righteous by his blood (when I drink the cup). For eg, if i just messed up, i take communion to be reminded of the continuous cleansing power of the blood. I never take it in sorrow or mourning.

The bread part is for our health and healing.

Communion is a time for celebration, for rejoicing!

Not only did Jesus die for our sins, and in His Resurrection assure us of life everlasting, but He also left with us this incredibly Sacrament!

For it is through the Eating and Drinking of the Body and Blood of our Lord that we rebuild ourselves into what God wants us to be! Each bite, each sip is a building block that our body can actually use to create the Child of God.

Isn't God wonderful!

It is a time to reflect on our lives and search our hearts. To make sure we are where we are supposed to be and a time for cleanseing

The Lord's supper is a time to reflect and remember that Jesus' body was broken and His blood was shed for our sins. As Jesus said. "Do this in rememberance of Me."

Communion is a serious time of confessing our sins with contrite hearts as we remember what Christ has done for us on the cross.

I think it would more appropriate to say that we should feel humbled.
