Need book on Calvin

Which one is the first one by Waterson?
I want to introduce a kid to Calvin and Hobbes, but I can't figure out which compilation is the first book - and I don't want to buy the $100 leather bound version with all of them.

Are we talking about the theologian or the cartoon strip? At first, based on the title of the thread, I thought of the theologian. Then, I saw "Calvin and Hobbes" and thought of the cartoon strip. However, at that juncture I considered the possibility that there might be a theologian named Hobbes, and now I'm just really confused. :)
