Why is the KJV such an issue?

Why is the KJV such an issue?
Well for one...some of the newer versions are completely different...COMPLETELY!
for example: Last night I was posting in the Psalms thread, and somone posted a verse and it meant something completely different! I mean I actually had to read it several times to make sure it was the correct verse!
Unbelievable...
Does your "Baptist" church use a different version?
Have you not done research on the subject?
If not I suggest you do.
As it is one of the beautiful gifts called education.
How could they go Verse by Verse and change everything?
How can some pastors completely disregard whole books?
I know how..and why...and who...and it's sad...and it's not for a place like this, its for the debate forums.
Just remember in your education, not everything you read is fact. You have to know where to read, what to read, and so on and so forth. If all signs point north, well north it is.
Bibles included.
Regardless what bible you choose to use or believe in, This is a place of Love...as is the Bible. Right?

1 John 2:18: Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1 John 2:22: Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1 John 4:3: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2 John 1:7: For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Rev 13:6~8 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

:amen:Fellowship is wonderful. IMHO, I think we should have more of the conversational fellowship on here and not just rep threads where people pop in and say hello daily for reps. I love reps don't get me wrong, and saying hello is really nice, I just think we can get a little closer by letting each other in on one another's lives. That was one of the purposes of original fellowship, wasn't it? I know we are all on the web, but I still think that some kind of real fellowship can be accomplished here. Okay nuff of that.
One of my favvys in the KJV is the Faith Hall of Fame.
Hebrews 11
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. 5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. 8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. 11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. 13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. 17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: 19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. 20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. 21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff. 22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones. 23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment. 24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. 27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. 28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. 29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. 31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. 32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38 (Of whom the world was not worthy) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. 39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Right on MO!
If we are to reach the goals set for us by God, we must understand what it means to live by faith.
For all the people in chapter 11 could not do great things, so they trusted God to do great things for them. TRUST is the key word! Most of the people mentioned in this chapter were ordinary people who accomplished great things. The character trait that distinguishes these people is their faith! Before this chapter, they were experiencing opposition and persecution and they were in danger of giving up the faith! But, they all trusted God, and God used them to change the world!
Chapter 11 and the message it gives is needed today! Very much so.

Does your "Baptist" church use a different version?
Have you not done research on the subject?
If not I suggest you do.
As it is one of the beautiful gifts called education
Actually They read from NIV and the Amplified as well as the KJV. Perhaps if we want real accuracy we should go back to the Greek or for real accuracy the Hebrew.
It is a shame Moses did not have the KJV to go by......

I enjoy the KJV but it is not the only one I read, I took the education thing as a bit of an insult, (but I am thick skinned) so I'll play. I just hate the appearance (Theology/demonination/etc.) that anything OTHER than my anything has to be met with such a dogmatic attitude.

I just hate the appearance (Theology/demonination/etc.) that anything OTHER than my anything has to be met with such a dogmatic attitude. That is not what was implied to me. This is a FELLOWSHIP thread for people who like the King James Version of the Bible. That does not mean we are dogging anyone elses opinion, it is just that we prefer to read the scriptures in the way that Bible has been written. It was not meant as an insult to you or anyone else for that matter. It was meant to gather people together in fellowship.
BTW, hate is a sin.

Oh and...to those of you who don't know me. I am in no wise saying that I have all the answers, either. I fully understand that even with a lot of study, prayer and leading a devout spiritual, godly life, the mysteries of God will not become crystal clear while any of us are living here on Earth. (bummer dude!) We kind of have to wait to get to Heaven to actually understand it all.
But hey...that's not going to stop me from continuing to put one foot in front of the other and gain as much understanding as I can while I'm here. Nosireebob!
So...What about them Red Sox?

Why can't people just let people be people? :sigh:But, this is the "open to all members" forum. You can't say that if I am Baptist or KJVO I'm welcome here. All members are welcome here. If this thread was meant for only Baptists and KJVO's, it should have been posted in the Baptist only forum.
I don't know how to answer your "why can't people just let people be people?" question. I don't understand what you're trying to say. I'm not trying to prevent anyone from being who they are. I am just asking why the thread was named the way it was.
When I don't know something, I ask. Simple. :)

Ok sorry people..I was eating my dinner and playing my instruments...
somtimes ya gotta eat...and jam out....its good for the soul
Well, I can see there are some people here that have attitude problems...
not very Jesus like are we? lol
MeekOne explained everything as did I earlier, there really is nothing more to say on the subject.
If it can be called that.
A question was asked in hopes of an honest answer right? I gave an honest answer...don't ask the question if your ego is not prepaired for honesty and all that comes with it.
I for one have studied most of the worlds major religions in my life long journey, I have studied the Gita, the Upanishads, and the Mahabharata, the Heterodox systems including Buddhism and Jainism, and orthodox systems, like Vaisesika, Yoga, and Vedanta...even the Holy Koran...
(and not buddhism for dummies either)...years of deep meditation and study
some of these actually (and this may be hard for some if not most of you to believe) are right in line with what Jesus tried to teach in the short time he was here...
RIGHT IN LINE!
and if you have any questions about them I suggest you try to open your minds completely in everything you do, and every decision you make, then try to do the same when studying religons of the world, including your "own"
WWJD? lol
..and anyone can read a scripture and apply it to somthing in life...or the reverse
that doesnt mean you understand what it truely means, right?
Some of us in these forums need to look at things from all sides of the many coins to truely understand in their hearts the teachings of Jesus.
(In this world today, frankly it obviously is needed...)
This includes the reality coin, there are billions of people in the world today! Billions! with millions of different realitys and viewpoints and problems where they actually have to use what they have, or know...for it is their only choice..unlike most people who have the internet, electricty, and a computer!
some of these people would give anything for the opportunity to come on to an electric typed forum to learn and grow...
not play wasteful foolish Games of pointless Ego banter over a computer...
I think any unselfish person can read the opening post I made to see the point of this thread...
Peace, Love, and GROWING...(KJV or whatever floats your boat!)
which I hope we all have done tonight

I thought I would just pop in & say "hi" to everybody
I for one, LOVE the KJV version. I feel the Holy Spirit in it and that it all that counts to me. Once in awhile, if I get get "stuck" with "language", I will get the NKJV to help me out but as a whole, I find the KJV a very poetic version & not only that, but the way it is written...some passages loses its meaning as it is translated into other versions. (Just my opinion. Please do not get offended...I just happen to favour it....like a favourite old chair.)
I am listening right now to St. Matthew's voice thingy & I am enjoying very much the sermon! He's a great preacher!
Even though I'm not Bapist...I keep an open mind with preachers, as long as they preach the Bible & from the Bible, then I listen to their message.

I'm so glad you mentioned this. You are probably the right person to ask this question.
Have you heard about Zoroastrianism & did you study it? What did you think about it? The bits I read about it have intrigued me & gave me the impression that Jesus made an appearance on the Earth to a previous civilization on Earth prior to Adam & Eve....any comments?

Some much info, good or bad, and so little time...

Adam & Eve were the first two people God put on the earth people.
StMatthew2429
31st October 2005, 12:22 AM
Adam & Eve were the first two people God put on the earth people.
:preach:And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Well..Im hittin my pillow...Im nodding out listening to this sermon and messin around on CF...
Ok..well Bless each and everyone of your special people my Lord!
C you all on the morrow!!!
Lord,
You have been with me all through this day,
stay with me now.
As the shadows lengthen into darkness
let the noisy world grow quiet,
let its feverish concerns be stilled,
its voices silenced.
In the final moments of this day
remind me of what is Real.
But let me not forget
that you were as present in
the stresses of the day just past
as you are now
in the silence of this night.
You have made me for
day and for night,
for work and for rest,
for both heaven and earth.
Here in this night
let me embrace and not regret
the mysterious beauty of my humanity.
Keep me in the embrace of your Reality through the night,
and the day to come.
Surround me with your silence
and give me the rest that only you can give--
Real peace,
now and forever.
Almighty God, we give you thanks for surrounding us, as daylight fades, with the brightness of the vesper light; and we implore you of your great mercy that, as you enfold us with the radiance of this light, so you would shine into our hearts the brightness of your Holy Spirit; through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Grant us, Lord, the lamp of charity which never fails, that it may burn in us and shed its light on those around us, and that by its brightness we may have a vision of that holy City, where dwells the true and never-failing Light, Jesus Christ our Lord!
O Lord God Almighty, as you have taught us to call the evening, the morning, and the noonday one day; and have made the sun to know its going down: Dispel the darkness of our hearts, that by your brightness we may know you to be the true God and eternal light, living and reigning for ever and ever.
Seek him who made the Pleiades and Orion, and turns deep darkness into the morning, and darkens the day into night; who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out upon the surface of the earth: The Lord is his name!

I arise today
Through the strength of heaven;
Light of the sun,
Splendor of fire,
Speed of lightning,
Swiftness of the wind,
Depth of the sea,
Stability of the earth,
Firmness of the rock.
I arise today
Through God's strength to pilot me;
God's might to uphold me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me,
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me,
God's hand to guard me,
God's way to lie before me,
God's shield to protect me,
God's hosts to save me
Afar and anear,
Alone or in a mulitude.
Christ shield me today
Against wounding
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in the eye that sees me,
Christ in the ear that hears me.
I arise today
Through the mighty strength
Of the Lord of creation.
O Lord, grant me to greet the coming day in peace,
help me in all things to rely upon your holy will.
In every hour of the day reveal your will to me.
Bless my dealings with all who surround me.
Teach me to treat all that comes to throughout the day with peace of soul and with firm conviction that your will governs all.
In all my deeds and words, guide my thoughts and feelings.
In unforeseen events, let me not forget that all are sent by you.
Teach me to act firmly and wisely, without embittering and embarrassing others. Give me strength to bear the fatigue of the coming day with all that it shall bring. Direct my will, teach me to pray.
And you, yourself, pray in me.

Fellowship is wonderful.

Amen, brother! When the Lord is with you NOTHING can take away that joy. Praise the Lord because He is so very, very, very, very faithful to His own. I am so very, very, very, very, very grateful to Him for what He did for me, and for continually watching over me. Coming here from Heaven, living a sinless life (that alone is miraculous), giving His life on that cross for all of our sins is just almost unimaginable. We will never know the pain He must have went through for all of the horrendous sins that were laid upon Him that day. I am in awe and total gratitude to Him for the rest of my life.
Still on top of the world today....glad you are joining me there!

StMatthew we had two pitts. One looked like your grey one only she was all white with a pink nose. Sweetest dog and she took very good care of our children when they were little. She would sit and watch them in the yard and if anyone came near them she would just stare them down. Never went after anyone. I guess she didn't need to at 95 lbs and all muscle.
Our other was a black and white brindle. She was left wandering the street. She was a sweety too. Never got very big though. I think her time out on the street stunted her a little. I don't think we will get another one though.
I know about losing it in church. I have felt the power of the Lord's love so strong sometimes that it just brings me to tears to know how much He loves me. All I can say is Praise His Holy name!
Have a great night.

Through It All
I've had many tears and sorrows,
I've had questions for tomorrow,
There've been times
I didn't know right from wrong:
But in every situation
God gave blessed consolation
That my trials come
To only make me strong.
Through it all, through it all,
I've learned to trust in Jesus,
I've learned to trust in God;
Through it all, through it all,
I've learned to depend upon His Word.
I've been to lots of places,
And I've seen a lot of faces,
There've been times I felt so all alone;
But in my lonely hours,
Yes, those precious lonely hours,
Jesus let me know that I was His own.
Through it all, through it all,
I've learned to trust in Jesus,
I've learned to trust in God;
Through it all, through it all,
I've learned to depend upon His Word.
I thank God for the mountains,
And I thank Him for the valleys,
I thank Him for the storms
He brought me through;
For if I'd never had a problem
I wouldn't know
That He could solve them,
I'd never know what faith
In God could do.
Through it all, through it all,
I've learned to trust in Jesus,
I've learned to trust in God;
Through it all, through it all,
I've learned to depend upon His Word.

Hey MeekOne, I posted this in your thread but Im posting it here too cause its so amazing...
Psalm 100~
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

I know isnt' it beautiful! It reminds me of this song:
Come, let us worship and bow down
Before the Lord Most Holy
Before the King of Glory
Come and lay your burdens down
Before the Friend who's faithful
Before the One who's able
For He is our God
And we are His people
[Yes] He is our God
And we will never be forsaken
Come, let us lift our voice in praise
Unto the Rock of Ages
Unto the God who saves us
Come and glorify His name
All the earth together
All the saints forever
You are our God
And we are Your people
You are our God
And we will be with You Forever
Although this may be the version I'm thinking of:
Come let us worship and bow down.
Let us kneel before the Lord, our God, our Maker
Let us kneel before the Lord, our God, our Maker
For He is our God.
And we are the people of His pasture.
And the sheep of His hand,
Just the sheep of His hand.
We sing it in church sometimes.

We are looking at getting a puppy, but a much smaller breed this time. Our daughters want a Yorkie or Puggles.

Okay, well I went and did your digging for you. Here, you were the one who said it.
I enjoy the KJV but it is not the only one I read, I took the education thing as a bit of an insult, (but I am thick skinned) so I'll play. I just hate the appearance (Theology/demonination/etc.) that anything OTHER than my anything has to be met with such a dogmatic attitude.Hence the reference to hate being a sin.
No. Just could not find and still can't .. the relevance of that remark (& I did go back and re-read) So I'll just assume there is none and move on..Yes, lets move on.

IMHO Hating an idea of wrongdoing is not a sin (See that's where I missed something). See God also"hates"...many things (example "divorce") under that theory you might be accusing God of "sin".
Now I see, where you think you were coming from. And if hating dogmatic attitudes that allow for only their so called interpertation is a sin--I am chief of sinners.
I have no further ?-Thank you.

One is justified. The other is sin.

Matthew 21:18: Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.
StMatthew2429
7th November 2005, 09:56 AM
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
The heavens and earth were created by God, but the form of the earth was not as we see it today. It was populated with dinosaurs, apes, and all the other species we see in the ancient fossil record. The apes could walk upright, communicate and use tools. We are not descendants of these apes as evolutionists teach. This period could have remained so for millions of years. The present mountains did not exist, and the oceans and continents were much different. The crude oil and coal were formed from vegetation and dead animal bodies deposited during this long period. It must have been a beautiful earth with vast vegetation and enormous dinosaurs walking around as seen in the movies, but God in His sovereignty decided to completely rearrange the earth.
Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
God brought a great chaos upon the earth. The whole earth became without form, void and darkness was upon the whole earth. Most or perhaps all of the life forms that live on the original earth were destroyed. Perhaps some of the sea creatures survived this chaotic period because we find ancient fossils that appear to be identical to some modern species, such as sharks.
Genesis 1:3 below tells us that after the chaotic period God started to recreate the earth as we see it today. God first began to create a new earth from the chaotic earth by restoring light. He rose up mountains from the depths of the sea. He moved the land masses around to rearrange the continents and oceans. We can now find the crude oil, coal, oyster shells, red horn coral, dinosaur bones and all of the ancient fossil record located on mountain tops far from their original location near or beneath the oceans. He changed the atmosphere. He created new species including modern humans. These series of events are called the "gap theory (http://www.kjvbible.org/)" by many Christians. This recreation was the common understanding of the early Christian fathers.
Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that [it was] good: and God divided the light from the darkness. {the light from...: Heb. between the light and between the darkness} 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. {And the evening...: Heb. And the evening was, and the morning was} 6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. {firmament: Heb. expansion} 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which [were] under the firmament from the waters which [were] above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. 9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry [land] appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry [land] Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that [it was] good. 11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, [and] the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed [is] in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. {grass: Heb. tender grass} 12 And the earth brought forth grass, [and] herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed [was] in itself, after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good. 13 And the evening and the morning were the third day. 14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: {the day...: Heb. between the day and between the night} 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: [he made] the stars also. {to rule the day...: Heb. for the rule of the day, etc.} 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that [it was] good. 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. 20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl [that] may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. {moving: or, creeping} {creature: Heb. soul} {fowl...: Heb. let fowl fly} {open...: Heb. face of the firmament of heaven} 21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. 23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. 24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good. 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. {moveth: Heb. creepeth} 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which [is] the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. {bearing...: Heb. seeding seed} {yielding...: Heb. seeding seed} 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein [there is] life, [I have given] every green herb for meat: and it was so. {life: Heb. a living soul} 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, [it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. Why is it most people only thank Him on Thanksgiving? I am so grateful to Him for all that He has done in my life, and continues to still do.
Praise the Lord for He should be thanked without ceasing.

This is the day when the precious stone
that the builders had cast away
Was lifted up to the highest place,
to the head of the corner raised.
Come and see what the Lord our God has done!
How wondrous are all his ways!
Let us rejoice and be glad
for this is the day that the Lord has made.

The Lord my strength, the Lord my song,
is the God who truly saves:
He heard my cries and he answered me;
he rescued me from the grave.
I will enter the gates of righteousness
with songs of thanks and praise.
Let us rejoice and be glad
for this is the day that the Lord has made!

Mark 16:2: And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
Beautiful picture!
Just to think...God created it all. Breathless!
That scripture Mark 16:2 reminds me of Genesis 1:5:
Genesis 1:5
In the beginning....God created the day to be night first and then morning last. Read the scripture again....and the evening and the morning were the first day. Night first, morning last. That made up the day, which is reverse today.
The Jewish day started at 3pm in the afternoon (that was the start of their day & it ended with morning). So Saturday at 3pm actually was Sunday for them.
Just something to ponder & reflect on.....

The Best Prayer I Have Heard In A Long Time............
Heavenly Father, Help us remember
that the jerk who cut us off in traffic
last night is a single mother who
worked nine hours that day and
is rushing home to cook dinner,
help with homework,
do the laundry and spend a
few precious moments
with her children.
Help us to remember that the
pierced, tattooed, disinterested
young man who can't make
change correctly is a worried
19-year-old college student,
balancing his apprehension
over final exams with his
fear of not getting his
student loans for next semester.
Remind us, Lord,
that the scary looking bum,
begging for money in the same
spot every day (who really ought
to get a job!) is a slave to addictions
that we can only imagine in our
worst nightmares.
Help us to remember that the
old couple walking annoyingly
slow through the store aisles
and blocking our shopping
progress are savoring this
moment, knowing that,
based on the biopsy report
she got back last week, this
will be the last year that they
go shopping together.
Heavenly Father,
remind us each day that,
of all the gifts you give us,
the greatest gift is love.
It is not enough to share
that love with those
we hold dear.
Open our hearts not to
just those who are
close to us,
but to all humanity.
Let us be slow to judge
and quick to forgive,
show patience,
empathy and
love.

Love the poem MeekOne.
I hope you all are having a great day.
My bible reading brought me to this prayer today.
I hope that it will help someone else too.
Father,
Thank you for the tremendous gift of forgiveness. I often think of my failures and fear they will separate me from You, but that is a lie from Satan that I must reject. You have separated me from my sins as far as the east is from the west; and You consider me beautiful in Your sight. Thank you, precious Lord, for Your power to transform lives into an everlasting work of art. Thank you, too, for Your work in my heart--the miraculous makeover from destitute sinner to a cherished child of God.
Now I need to remind myself on a daily basis that I am deserving of all that the Lord has to give me.
Talk to you soon.
God Bless

the king james bible is an excellent translation and is poetic. I like the thee's and thou's because it shows respect to almighty god. You can make music from the book of Psalms in the kjv. Marantha has made many scripture songs based on the KJV.

Good Morning Everyone!,
Came across this in my travels online. Thought I'd share it with you all.
Prayer to the Holy Spirit
http://www.xaviermissionaries.org/M_Call/ThghtPhots/9HolSprt1J.jpg
Come, Holy Spirit,
and fill with your hope the heart of the earth.
Renew our hearts
and make them capable to love unconditionally.
Come, Spirit of love, and enlighten the roads
of peace and reconciliation among all peoples.
Come, be with all the poor of the world,
with all those who weep,
with all who hunger and thirst for your justice.
Come, Spirit of Life,
and enlighten in the heart of young people
the desire of following the missionary call.
Sustain the missionaries of the Gospel with your breath of love,
with your radiant light, with the support of your grace.
Renew our mission call, and make us witnesses of hope.
Come, Spirit of God.
