Well..We got back from seeing the movie and I can honestly say it was one of the best movies I have ever seen!

EVERYTHING about it...

I cant believe how christian and biblical value and plot based it really was! .. What a true and needed blessing in this day and age... AMEN!

My kids just loved it! I of course cried through the entire film! At points it was so emotionally overwhelming for me I had to just breath and get myself together...I know its a kids movie, but nothing has effected me film wise quite like this did except The Passion..(and thats at the top believe me, so that says alot) ..just the whole film was amazing, it was done so well. Such an amazing film for the kids to have seen lesson wise.

Im not gonna say too much about the movie story wise for some that might read this thread who have yet to see it...but take some advise, go see this film!!!!

GOD bless all of you and your loved ones this new year!!!

Read The Word of God!

The Holy Bible (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/bybook.htm) is the most important Book that has ever been written - and the most important Book that you could ever read. It is the only true and dependable source of information for the origins (see Bible History (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/biblhist.htm)) and future (see Prophecy (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/prophecy.htm)) of humanity, as made possible through our Savior Jesus Christ (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/christ.htm). This Bible-reading plan has a straight front-to-back format to reveal God's step by step Plan of Salvation. Key events of the Bible occurred in a purposeful sequence, and the understanding of later chapters is greatly enhanced by the awareness of those that came earlier.

This easy schedule will complete the entire Holy Bible, Old Testament (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/otfacts.htm) and New Testament (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/ntfacts.htm), in 52 weeks - 22 chapters per week for the first 7 weeks, and 23 chapters per week for the remaining 45 weeks. A 30 minute time period in a quiet time of each day is the only investment that you need - a very small price to pay for the knowledge and peace of mind that you get in return.

The weeks of the chart are numbered rather than dated, so a beginning can be made at any time of the year. Just go to Week 1 and do the row from left to right, from Sunday to Saturday. Repeat the process down the list.

Enjoy the wonderful Word of God!

WOW 2006 , IT IS HARD TO GRASP.
I WANT TO THANK YOU BROTHER MATT,FOR THE WORD DAILY YOU BRING.

FOR ALL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS HER AT CF.
GOD CAME RIGHT ON TIME WHEN HE LEAD ME HERE IN JULY OF 2005.
GOD KNEW WHAT I STOOD IN NEED OF AND BLESSED ME WITH YOU ALL.

I CAN SAY THIS , I KNOW THIS OLE WORLD IS NOT GOING TO GET ANY BETTER.
GODS WORDS TELL US SO , THE BIBLE SAID IN THE LAST DAYS, THERE WOULD BE A GREAT FALLING AWAY IN THE LAST DAYS.
MATTHEW 24:
TELLS US WHAT IT WILL BE LIKE IN THOSE LAST DAYS .
MY FRIEND EVER THING HAS BEEN FULLFILLED IN HIS WORD , EXCEPT HIS COMING.
I HAVE A DESIRE IN MY HEART FOR THAT DAY,
I WOULD SAY COME TODAY LORD THIS I PRAY , BUT I TELL YOU I HAVE LOVEONES THAT I DONT THINK HAS THEIR HEART RIGHT WITH THE LORD.
SOME TIMES WE GET SO BURDEN DOWN WITH ALL THE CARES OF LIFE.
I HAVE NEVER SEEN LIKE IT IS TO DAY , CHILDREN OF GOD GOING THROUGH SO MUCH.

OUR LOVEONES WHEN THEY ARE SINNING, THEY DONT RELIZE WE HAVE TO PAY TO.
I REMEMBER JONAH BEING ON THAT BOAT , RUNNING FROM GOD , IN SIN.
THE FOLKS WAS SO SCARED AND ASK JESUS WHY.......
THEN JONAH SAID IT IS ME,CAST ME OVER AND THE STORM WOULD CEASE
BECAUSE OF JONAH EVERY1 WAS HAVING TO PAY. IT CEASED WHEN HE WAS
THROWN OVER.
SEE I WONDER WHY HE JUST DIDN'T REPENT RIGHT THERE , NO HE KEPT TURNING AWAY FROM GOD, AND HAD TO GO THROUGH SO MUCH ,
BEFORE HE FINALLY GAVE IT ALL TO THE LORD.
PRAISE GOD FOR HIS MERCY AND GRACE .
HE COULD HAVE TOOK HIS LIFE WHEN HE WAS OUT THERE IN SIN. WOOOAA GOD IS SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS GOING TO SAY ALL THIS.
MY POINT, WE ALL NEED TO HELP EACH OTHER MAKE IT HOME.
WE AS SISTERS AND BROTHERS TRY EXTRA HARD TO WIN SOULS ,
LET GOD USE US ALL IN A MIGHTY WAY AS NEVER BEFORE.
COMING HERE TO CF,BEING UPLIFTED AND ENCOURAGING TO 1 ANOTHER,
AND PRAYING FOR EACH ONE THAT TAKES PART HERE AT CF.
THAT WHEN WE GO OUT AMONG THOSE IN THE WORLD GOD WILL GIVE US THE WORDS AND WHAT ONE STANDS IN NEED OF. THAT FOLKS WILL GIVE IT ALL TO THE LORD.

I SEEN ON TV OVER THER IN ISRAEL, WHERE THEY WAS SHOWING ABOUT ALL THOSE FOLKS ARE ON ALL KINDS OF ANTIDEPRESSANTS AND VALUIM
BECAUSE OF ALL THE TRAUMA THAT IS GOING ON OVER THERE!
IF I WAS OVER THERE, I PROBALLY BEEN ON ALL I COULD GET TO COPE .
WOW WE HAVE SO MUCH TO THANK GOD FOR AND WE STILL COMPLAIN.
FOLKS I BELEIVE WE ARE IN THOSE LAST DAYS.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL IN 2006, LETS WIN SOULS,

We are in the last days. Its all in the book.

As you said we need to save our brothers and sisters while we can. Have an open heart, ear, and mind for each other. Support each other. Look forward, never back. Read the word. Live the word. See Jesus in EVERYBODY!
:preach:

I pray Jesus will come back as well friend. The sooner the better. Although I have alot of work to do here before that happens...and I pray everyday for wisdom and strength for my path in the Lords work.:prayer:

GOD bless you blueeyeangel! You are an inspiration to me and so many!!! Keep saving the souls of GODS children!

Naomi's Bethlehem Journey

Naomi, from the Hebrew (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/hebrewal.htm) name (pronounced) no-om-ee meaning graceful, or delightful, lived during the time of the Judges. Her husband was named Elimelech; her sons were Mahlon and Chilion. At the time of a famine in Judah, Naomi's family moved to Moab (located to the east of the Dead Sea, see the map below, also the Fact Finder question below). While there, Naomi not only became a widow after Elimelech died, but her two sons also died, leaving behind widows of their own, women of Moab named Orpah and Ruth. When Naomi decided to return home to Judea (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2000/20000217.htm), one of her daughters-in-law, Ruth, accompanied her to Bethlehem where, after her marriage to Naomi's kinsman Boaz, Ruth became an ancestor of King David (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/david.htm), and of Jesus Christ (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/christ.htm). "There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David"

Naomi and her family moved to Moab to escape a famine in nearby Judah (whether caused by drought, or destruction caused by warfare is not stated):

http://www.keyway.ca/gif/ruth.gif

"Now it came to pass in the days when The Judges (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2000/20000808.htm) ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons. And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there." (Ruth 1:1-2 KJV) In Moab, Naomi became a widow. Her two sons, who married Moabite women while there, also died during the ten years that Naomi lived there:

"And Elimelech Naomi's husband died; and she was left, and her two sons. And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years. And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband." (Ruth 1:1-5 KJV) When she heard that things had improved in Judah, Naomi decided to return home:

"Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that The Lord had visited his people in giving them bread. Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah." (Ruth 1:6-7 KJV) Naomi urged her two daughters-in-law to remain in their own land of Moab; Orpah chose to stay, while Ruth chose to accompany Naomi back to Judah:

"And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother's house: The Lord deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me ... And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God" (Ruth 1:8,16 KJV) Upon their arrival in Bethlehem in spring, at the time of the barley harvest, Naomi was welcomed home:

"So they two went until they came to Bethlehem (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/bethlhm.htm). And it came to pass, when they were come to Bethlehem, that all the city was moved about them, and they said, Is this Naomi? ... So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of Barley (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/barley.htm) harvest." (Ruth 1:19,22 KJV) Naomi arranged for a meeting of Ruth and Boaz; Naomi's intent wasn't just to find Ruth employment, but find her a new husband:

"And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband's, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2000/20000903.htm). And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn [i.e. barley, see Corn (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2003/20030204.htm)] after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter." "Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?" (Ruth 2:1-2, 3: KJV)

Naomi's match-making efforts were a success, Ruth and Boaz were married. Their son Obed, who was cared for by Naomi some of the time, would become the grandfather of King David:

"So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, The Lord gave her conception, and she bare a son. And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be The Lord, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel. And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath borne him." "And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it. And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2001/20011223.htm), the father of David." (Ruth 4:13-17 KJV)

The Pure Sea

The "sea of glass" is specifically spoken of twice in the Holy Scriptures, both times in the Book of Revelation, both times referring to the area around The Throne of God, as an analogy for the absolute purity of God. That "sea" is later evident as the source of the "living waters," God's Holy Spirit, that will flow from the New Jerusalem. "And before the Throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal"

The first reference to the "sea of glass" describes the area around The Throne of God in heaven:

http://www.keyway.ca/gif/twowit.gif
"I was in the spirit; and, behold, a Throne was set in heaven, and One sat on the Throne ... And before the Throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal" (Revelation 4:2,6 KJV)It was before that Throne that Jesus Christ (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/christ.htm) appeared after His ascension:

"And I saw in the right hand of Him that sat on The Throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? ... And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof ... And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof [see also What Is Jesus Christ Doing Right Now? (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2003/20030617.htm)]: for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by Thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." (Revelation 5:1-2,5,9-10 KJV)The second mention of the "sea of glass," described as such, is just prior to The Return Of Jesus Christ (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/theretrn.htm), when some of the saints (see What Is A Saint? (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/saints.htm), also When Will You Be Judged? (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2003/20030719.htm)) appear before the Throne of God (obviously at the time of the first resurrection, see Resurrections (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2001/20010127.htm)) on the "sea of glass." The two witnesses are described as being resurrected to heaven prior to the return of Christ (i.e. "they ascended up to heaven in a cloud" Revelation 11:12 KJV); unless this is describing the two witnesses alone, apparently some are going with them before they all return (see "To Meet The Lord In The Air" (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2004/20040503.htm)):

"And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name [see Who Will Be The Antichrist? (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2004/20040711.htm)], stand on the sea of glass" (Revelation 15:2 KJV)The coming of the New Jerusalem to earth, "clear as crystal" (see also The Throne Of God, From Heaven To Earth (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2003/20030307.htm)):

"And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal" (Revelation 21:10-11 KJV)On earth, the New Jerusalem will have streets "as it were transparent glass" (also note that the famous "pearly gates" are described as being on earth):

"And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." (Revelation 21~:21-27 KJV)From "the Throne of God and of the Lamb" in the New Jerusalem will flow "a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal" (see Living Waters (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/20020521.htm)):

"And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the Throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations." Revelation 21:4~7:

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Revelation 21:22~27:

And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Revelation 22:1~5:

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Revlation 22:14:

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Revealtion 22:17:

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Revelation 22:20~21:

He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

As A Tree Planted By The Waters

During Bible History (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/biblhist.htm), a shrub variety of Juniper was known to the Hebrews as (pronounced in Hebrew) ar-awr. It was found existing ("growing" would not be an appropriate word) in dry, infertile places, which resulted in it being stunted and calloused. English-language versions of the Bible sometimes used the Anglo-Saxon word heath to translate the original Hebrew word, since heath referred to not just a similar shrub found in the countryside of England, but also because heath was a term used to describe the areas where heath was found i.e. uncultivated land with poor soil and scrubby vegetation. From this meaning of heath was derived the original term heathen - uncivilized people who lived out in the heath, but later it was used as a religious analogy for spiritually-stunted people who lived in a religious wasteland. "Blessed is the man that trusteth in The Lord ... For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters"

The Lord used dry, scrubby heath as an analogy for those who look to themselves for Truth, rather than to the only genuine source of spiritual fertility - the literal Word of God in The Holy Bible (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/bybook.htm). These verses were addressed to the people of Judah, but He was speaking to, and warning, "man" (see verses below) as an entire species:

http://www.keyway.ca/jpg/golan.jpg

"The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is Graven (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2004/20040302.htm) upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your Altars (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/altars.htm); Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills. O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders." "And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies [see Why Babylon? (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/whybab.htm) and The Galilee Captivity (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2003/20030720.htm)] in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in Mine anger, which shall burn for ever."

"Thus saith The Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from The Lord. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited."

"Blessed is the man that trusteth in The Lord [see also Where Can True Wisdom Be Found? (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2004/20040123.htm)], and whose hope The Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit." (Jeremiah 17:1-8 KJV)

StMatthew2429
3rd January 2006, 10:37 AM
A man and his 10-year-old daughter, both very good swimmers, entered the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean for an afternoon swim. When they were some distance from the shore they became separated. The father realized they were being carried out to sea by the riptide. He frantically called out to his daughter: "Teresa, I am going to shore for help. If you get tired, turn on your back! You can float all day on your back. I'll come back for you. I promise!"
Before long many searchers in boats were desperately scurrying over the surface of the water hunting for one small girl, while hundreds of people to whom the news had spread waited anxiously on shore. It was four long tedious hours before they finally found her, far from land. She was calmly floating on her back and not at all frightened. Cheers and tears of joy greeted the rescuers with their precious cargo as they came to land. The girl jumped out of the boat and ran into the waiting arms of her father and said, "I wasn't scared Daddy. You said you would come for me, and that I could float all day, so I just swam and floated as I waited for you to come get me."
Just like this little girl's Dad, Jesus will fulfill his promise to return for us and we will never be separated from him again.

"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be."

A virus? Like computer or biological?

...and it was a personal revelation I guess. Personal in the sense that it was in my head. lol

Basically, I, for a couple seconds, got the whole outside of time and matter as we know it, GOD heaven dimension thing as relating to our physical world being humans. Like a shot to the head. Everything from the beginning of creation to the present to the very end, the bible, the prophets, the flood, heaven, satan, the end times, the holy ghost, jesus the son of god and my savior, everything. The "now" we live in and the naked yet masked by nature simplicity and complexness of humans wants and illusions of earths evil compared to the overall reality that we normally can not understand by nature without the word of the creator and his plan. Even if text books can try to label with "words". The simpleness and complexity of salvation and how it exists together at the same time. Gifts. Crying. Grieving. Reproduction. Control. The brain and its complexity. The conscious and subconscious mind, the soul, its existance and immortalness, thought patterns, what contributes to where or what we think, how we think, where they come from...

all of this in the course of a few moments was completely clear...completely understandable on a level I cant even try to explain in words, for those few brief moments...

all I know is that another level of my personal spiritual ladder was stepped on...and when that happens, its impossible to go anywhere but up, for the step is made of a foundation beyond space and time or human linear unerstanding

Thaddaeus

Thaddaeus was one of the disciples of Jesus Christ (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/christ.htm) who were chosen by the Christ to be among the twelve apostles (i.e. while all apostles were disciples, not all disciples were apostles - to understand the difference between "disciple" and "apostle" see Disciples and Apostles (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/disapos.htm)). As was the case with a number of the other apostles, Thaddaeus is known by more than one name; he is also variously called "Lebbaeus," "Judas the brother of James" or "Judas, not Iscariot." Not a great amount is recorded about Thaddaeus, apart from his listing in the twelve and his question to the Christ about how, when and why people begin to "see." Thaddaeus will however become much better known in the future (see the Fact Finder question below). "Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus"

Mark uses "Thaddaeus" in his listing of the twelve:

http://www.keyway.ca/jpg/road.jpg

"And He ordained twelve, that they should be with Him, and that he might send them forth to preach, And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:" [see Casting Out Demons (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2001/20011229.htm); also What Makes Satan A Devil? (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2005/20050819.htm)] "And Simon He surnamed Peter; And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and He surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite, And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed Him" (Mark 3:14-19 KJV)

Matthew uses "Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus":

"And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal [see also Faith and Healing (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2005/20050622.htm)] all manner of sickness and all manner of disease." "Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him" (Matthew 10:1-4 KJV)

Luke uses "Judas the brother of James"

"And when it was day, he called unto Him His disciples: and of them He chose twelve, whom also He named apostles; Simon, whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes, And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor" (Luke 6:13-16 KJV) John uses "Judas, not Iscariot." It was Thaddaeus / Lebbaeus / Judas who asked how it is that some can "see" while others don't - yet.

"If ye love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth Me no more; but ye see Me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in My Father, and ye in Me, and I in you. He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him." "Judas saith unto Him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that Thou wilt manifest Thyself unto us, and not unto the world?" [see also When Did The Apostles Really Understand? (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2005/20050420.htm)]

"Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love Me, he will keep My words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with him. He that loveth Me not keepeth not My sayings: and the word which ye hear is not Mine, but the Father's which sent Me."

"These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is The Holy Ghost (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2004/20040228.htm), whom the Father will send in My Name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 15:15-27 KJV)

Fact Finder: While some of the twelve apostles are better known than others, how will all be equally well known, to all the world, in the future?

A Hidden Message:

The Gospel in Genesis

by Chuck Missler
We frequently use the familiar term, gospel, or good news. Where is the first place it appears in the Bible? The answer may surprise you.

An Integrated Message

The great discovery is that the Bible is a message system: it's not simply 66 books penned by 40 authors over thousands of years, the Bible is an integrated whole which bears evidence of supernatural engineering in every detail.

The Jewish rabbis have a quaint way of expressing this very idea: they say that they will not understand the Scriptures until the Messiah comes. But when He comes, He will not only interpret each of the passages for us, He will interpret the very words; He will even interpret the very letters themselves; in fact, He will even interpret the spaces between the letters!

When I first heard this, I simply dismissed this as a colorful exaggeration. Until I reread Matthew 5:17 and 18 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/get_verses.pl?hr=http://www.khouse.org/&icon=http://www.khouse.org/images/hp-logo-2b.gif&bgcolor=FFFFFF&textcolor=000000&linkcolor=39398C&alinkcolor=ff0000&vlinkcolor=39398C&Book=Mat&Chapter=5&Start=17&End=18&anything.x=0&anything.y=0):
"Think not that I have come to destroy the Torah and the prophets; I have not come to destroy but to fulfill.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." (A jot and tittle are the Hebrew equivalent of our dotting an i and the crossing of a t.)

An Example

A remarkable example of this can be glimpsed in Genesis Chapter 5, where we have the genealogy of Adam through Noah. This is one of those chapters which we often tend to skim over quickly as we pass through Genesis it's simply a genealogy from Adam to Noah.

But God always rewards the diligent student. Let's examine this chapter more closely.

In our Bible, we read the Hebrew names. What do these names mean in English?

A Study of Original Roots

The meaning of proper names can be a difficult pursuit since a direct translation is often not readily available. Even a conventional Hebrew lexicon can prove disappointing. A study of the original roots, however, can yield some fascinating insights.

(A caveat: many study aids, such as a conventional lexicon, can prove rather superficial when dealing with proper nouns. Furthermore, views concerning the meanings of original roots are not free of controversy and variant readings.)

Let's take an example.

The Flood Judgment

Methuselah comes from muth, a root that means "death";1 (http://www.khouse.org/articles/1996/44/#notes) and from shalach, which means to bring, or to send forth. The name Methuselah means, "his death shall bring".2 (http://www.khouse.org/articles/1996/44/#notes)

Methuselah's father was given a prophecy of the coming Great Flood, and was apparently told that as long as his son was alive, the judgment of the flood would be withheld; but as soon as he died, the flood would be brought or sent forth.

(Can you imagine raising a kid like that? Every time the boy caught a cold, the entire neighborhood must have panicked!)

And, indeed, the year that Methuselah died, the flood came.3 (http://www.khouse.org/articles/1996/44/#notes)

It is interesting that Methuselah's life, in effect, was a symbol of God's mercy in forestalling the coming judgment of the flood.

Therefore, it is fitting that his lifetime is the oldest in the Bible, speaking of the extensiveness of God's mercy.

The Other Names

If there is such significance in Methuselah's name, let's examine the other names to see what may lie behind them.

Adam's name means man. As the first man, that seems straight forward enough.

Seth

Adam's son was named Seth, which means appointed. Eve said, "For God hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew."4 (http://www.khouse.org/articles/1996/44/#notes)

Enosh

Seth's son was called Enosh, which means mortal, frail, or miserable. It is from the root anash, to be incurable, used of a wound, grief, woe, sickness, or wickedness.

It was in the days of Enosh that men began to defile the name of the Living God.5 (http://www.khouse.org/articles/1996/44/#notes)

Kenan

Enosh's son was named Kenan, which can mean sorrow, dirge, or elegy. (The precise denotation is somewhat elusive; some study aids unfortunately presume that Kenan is synonymous with Cainan.)

Balaam, looking down from the heights of Moab, uses a pun upon the name of the Kenites when he prophesies their destruction.6 (http://www.khouse.org/articles/1996/44/#notes)

We have no real idea as to why these names were chosen for their children. Often they may have referred to circumstances at birth, and so on.

Mahalalel

Kenan's son was Mahalalel, from Mahalal which means blessed or praise; and El, the name for God. Thus, Mahalalel means the Blessed God. Often Hebrew names include El, the name of God, as Dan-i-el, "God is my Judge", etc.

Jared

Mahalalel's son was named Jared, from the verb yaradh, meaning shall come down.7 (http://www.khouse.org/articles/1996/44/#notes)

Enoch

Jared's son was named Enoch, which means teaching, or commencement. He was the first of four generations of preachers. In fact, the earliest recorded prophecy was by Enoch, which amazingly enough deals with the Second Coming of Christ (although it is quoted in the Book of Jude in the New Testament):

Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, "Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against."
Jude 14, 15 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/get_verses.pl?hr=http://www.khouse.org/&icon=http://www.khouse.org/images/hp-logo-2b.gif&bgcolor=FFFFFF&textcolor=000000&linkcolor=39398C&alinkcolor=ff0000&vlinkcolor=39398C&Book=Jud&Chapter=1&Start=14&End=15&anything.x=0&anything.y=0) Methuselah

Enoch was the father of Methuselah, who we have already mentioned. Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah.8 (http://www.khouse.org/articles/1996/44/#notes) Apparently, Enoch received the prophecy of the Great Flood, and was told that as long as his son was alive, the judgment of the flood would be withheld. The year that Methuselah died, the flood came.

Enoch, of course, never died: he was translated 9 (http://www.khouse.org/articles/1996/44/#notes) (or, if you'll excuse the expression, raptured ). That's how Methuselah can be the oldest man in the Bible, yet he died before his father!

Lamech

Methuselah's son was named Lamech, a root still evident today in our own English word, lament or lamentation. Lamech suggests despairing.

(This name is also linked to the Lamech in Cain's line who inadvertently killed his son Tubal-Cain in a hunting incident.10 (http://www.khouse.org/articles/1996/44/#notes))

Noah

Lamech, of course, is the father of Noah, which is derived from nacham, to bring relief or comfort, as Lamech himself explains in Genesis 5:29.

The Composite List

Now let's put it all together:

HebrewEnglish
Adam~Man
Seth~Appointed
Enosh~Mortal
Kenan~Sorrow;
Mahalalel~The Blessed God
Jared~Shall come down
Enoch~Teaching
Methuselah~His death shall bring
Lamech~The Despairing
Noah~Rest, or comfort.

That's rather remarkable:

Man (is) appointed mortal sorrow; (but) the Blessed God shall come down teaching (that) His death shall bring (the) despairing rest.

Here's the Gospel hidden within a genealogy in Genesis!

(You will never convince me that a group of Jewish rabbis conspired to hide the Christian Gospel right here in a genealogy within their venerated Torah!)

Evidence of Design

The implications of this discovery are more wide spread than is evident at first glance.

It demonstrates that in the earliest chapters of the Book of Genesis, God had already laid out His plan of redemption for the predicament of mankind. It is a love story, written in blood on a wooden cross which was erected in Judea almost 2,000 years ago.

The Bible is an integrated message system, the product of supernatural engineering. Every number, every place name, every detail every jot and tittle is there for our learning, our discovery, and our amazement. Truly, our God is an awesome God.

It is astonishing to discover how many Biblical controversies seem to evaporate if one simply recognized the unity the integrity of these 66 books, penned by 40 authors over thousands of years.

It is remarkable how many subtle discoveries lie behind the little details of the text. Some of these become immediately obvious with a little study; some are more technical and require special helps.

Look behind every detail: there's a discovery to be made! God always rewards the diligent student. What other messages lay hidden behind the names in the Bible? Check it out.

Assos

Assos, or Assus, was a seaport city in Mysia, a region of Asia Minor (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2001/20010208.htm) (i.e. Turkey). The now infamous island of Lesbos (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2005/20051121.htm) was about 7 miles from Assos. In Bible History (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/biblhist.htm), Assos is mentioned as one of the stops along Paul's Third Missionary Journey (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/paulthir.htm) (see also Paul's Ministry (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2004/20040116.htm)). "And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot"

The night before Paul walked across from Troas to Assos saw a joyous miracle - the raising of Eutychus from the dead, by means of the Holy Spirit, through Paul.

That night, "upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread" is also one of the most misunderstood in the New Testament. Many misuse the reference to the "first day of the week" to claim that Paul was conducting a Sunday church service, when in truth he was merely continuing his observance of the seventh day Sabbath with those people because he was their overnight guest.

Actually getting to see and hear Paul preach was a rarity, so Paul spoke through the Sabbath, then through the evening and then all night. The term "first day of the week" is used there because days were reckoned from sunset to sunset - the time that is referred to there is what we would today call Saturday night, not Sunday. The "breaking bread" was just a regular evening meal. Paul was a seventh-day Sabbath keeper, according to the Fourth Commandment. Paul was not an observer of the Romans' pagan "sun day" (see Sun Worship (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2000/20000704.htm) to understand how Sunday worship originated in the corrupted "Christian" church).

http://www.keyway.ca/gif/paul3.gif

"And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together." "And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead. And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him."

"When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed."

"And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted." (Acts 20:7-12 KJV)

The next day, during what we would today call Sunday, Paul did not preach; he instead did hard labor, walking about 20 miles overland from Troas to Assos to catch the ship that had sailed about 30 miles around the peninsula from Troas to Assos.

"And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot. And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2004/20040812.htm)." "And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus. For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/ephesus.htm), because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost [see The Christian Pentecost (http://www.keyway.ca/htm2005/20050612.htm)]" (Acts 20:13-16 KJV)

WHO IS YESHUA?

Most of you know Him as Jesus the Christ...

King of the Jews, King of Israel, King of all the ages, King of Heaven, King of Glory, King of Kings ...Lord of Lords

A prophet before Moses, a priest after Melchizedek, a champion like Joshua, an offering in place of Isaac, a King from the line of David, a wise counselor above Solomon, a beloved/rejected/exalted son like Joseph...and yet far more!

The heavens declare His glory...and the firmament shows His handiwork! He who is, who was, and who always will be, He is the First and the Last, He is the Alpha and Omega, The Aleph and the Tau, The A and the Z, He is the firstfruits of them that slept

The I AM that I AM, The voice of the burning bush, He is the Captain of the Lord's Host, He was the conqueror of Jericho, He is enduringly strong, He is entirely sincere, He is eternally steadfast, He is Immortally graceful, He is imperially powerful, He is impartially merciful, In Him dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily

The Very God of Very God

He is our Kinsman-Redeemer
He is our Avenger of Blood
He is our City of Refuge
Our Performing High Priest
Our Personal Prophet
Our Reigning King

He's the loftiest idea in literature, the highest personality in philosophy, the fundamental doctrine of theology
He's the ciprian problem in higher criticism
The miracle of all the ages
The superlative of everything good

You and I are the beneficiaries of a love letter!

It was written in blood
On a wooden cross
Erected in Judea 2000 years ago

He was crucified on a cross of wood,
yet He made the hill on which it stood

By Him were all things made that were made
Without Him was not anything made that was made
By Him are all things held together

What held him to that cross?
It wasn't the nails!
At any time He could have said...Enough already...I'm outta here!

It was His love for YOU and ME!!!

He was born of a woman
So that we could be born of God!

He humbled Himself
So that we could be lifted up!

He became a servant
So that we could be made co-heirs!

He suffered rejection
So that we could become His FRIENDS!

He denied Himself
So that we could freely receive all things!

He gave Himself
So that He could bless us in every way!

He is available to the tempted and tried
He blesses the young
He cleanses the lepers
He defends the feeble
He delivers the captives
He discharges the debtors
He forgives the sinners
He franchises the meek
He guards the besieged
He heals the sick
He provides strength to the weak
He regards the aged
He rewards the diligent
He serves the unfortunate
He sympathizes and He saves!
His offices are manifold
His reign is righteous
His promises are sure
His goodness is limitless
His light is matchless
His grace is sufficient
His love never changes
His mercy is everlasting
His Word is enough
His yoke is easy and His burden is light!

I wish I could describe Him to you!

The Heaven of heavens can not contain Him, Man can not explain Him, The Pharissees couldn't stand Him, and they learned that they couldn't stop Him!

Pilate couldn't find any fault with Him, The witnesses couldn't agree against Him, Herod couldn't kill Him, Death couldn't handle Him, The grave couldn't hold Him!

He has always been, and always will be, He has no predecessor, and will have no successor!

You can't impeach Him, and He isn't going to resign!

His name is above every name that at the name of Yeshua every knee should bow, and every tongue shall confess That Yeshua ha Mashiach is Lord!

His is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory! Forever and ever! Amein, Alelu Yah! Amein

Now I ask you? Would you not seek to know this God/man?

He is Who He is, for YOU.

HE IS LOVE

Until I reread Matthew 5:17 and 18 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/get_verses.pl?hr=http://www.khouse.org/&icon=http://www.khouse.org/images/hp-logo-2b.gif&bgcolor=FFFFFF&textcolor=000000&linkcolor=39398C&alinkcolor=ff0000&vlinkcolor=39398C&Book=Mat&Chapter=5&Start=17&End=18&anything.x=0&anything.y=0): "Think not that I have come to destroy the Torah and the prophets; I have not come to destroy but to fulfill.

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
(A jot and tittle are the Hebrew equivalent of our dotting an i and the crossing of a t.)

Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, "Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against."

Jude 14, 15 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/tools/get_verses.pl?hr=http://www.khouse.org/&icon=http://www.khouse.org/images/hp-logo-2b.gif&bgcolor=FFFFFF&textcolor=000000&linkcolor=39398C&alinkcolor=ff0000&vlinkcolor=39398C&Book=Jud&Chapter=1&Start=14&End=15&anything.x=0&anything.y=0)
Methuselah

Enoch was the father of Methuselah, who we have already mentioned. Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah.8 (http://www.khouse.org/articles/1996/44/#notes) Apparently, Enoch received the prophecy of the Great Flood, and was told that as long as his son was alive, the judgment of the flood would be withheld. Lamech

Methuselah's son was named Lamech, a root still evident today in our own English word, lament or lamentation. Lamech suggests despairing. <
