Proof that the SBC is the one true Church. [Archive]

Greetings Everybody,

I have come to the conclusion that the Southern Baptist Convention is the only true church approved by God.

It is very simple really:

Mat 3:1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea,

Mar 1:9 In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

Anyone who knows their New Testament geography knows that Judea is in the south. Thus John The Southern Baptist baptized Jesus who approved of the Baptism innaugurating the Southern Baptist Convention. All those church councils you hear about, those were really Southern Baptist conventions--before it went insanely liberal with the Council of Trent and barring Justification by Faith Alone....

I am going to write a book going into more detail about all of this and you all will get first dibs. Having now been enlightened with awesome Church history, don't you just want to have a pot-luck?

Well...Peter and Paul went north. I think that unequivocally proves that the Lord is only with Baptist churches above the line of 40 degrees latitude.

I have only been to one church demonination my whole entire life.
The Southern Baptist Church!
Was born one and will die one IMO!

I believe this means you must have a Southern accent in order to belong. Otherwise, we know you are just pretending.

Wait, since I live in Hawaii, I am one of the most SOUTHERN Baptists of all. OK, I feel better.

Mark I have to disagree and openly violate the forum rules by debating with you in the B/A forum. ;) :

The Southeastern Georgia Rite Baptists are the One True Church. If you don't agree with me right off the bat, I'm afraid you'll never understand.

Interesting topic. I dont believe their is #1 true church but that debate can go on and on forever. LOL. Southern accents are great! I am from Georgia and talk with a moderate accent. Sometimes it comes out in me more than others but I love it! Its a great accent!

Christ is the one true church. Will there be denominations when we are with Him, I don't think so. I am Southern Baptist because they believe closet to what I believe. but I just don't see denominations in Christ church.

I think realistically most of would agree with that sentiment.

Bit like me saying the Salvation Army is best because we make the best tea, which is clearly untrue (well we do make the best tea:D ).

I think it's good that we can relax and have a laugh in CF as well as focus on the serious stuff.

You are right of coarse about the relaxing and fun. No one enjoys a stuffy Christian....^_^ ^_^
But there are some that do believe their church is the only true church and that is sad.....

And that is why it is essential that we don't allow the hard line elements to prevail.

Most churches have those who believe that only they are right (although some more than others), but I believe that the majority of Christians, while recognising that there are differences in our beliefs and practices, want to share together in a spirit of Christian harmony.

Anyway, lets not let this thread get too serious. It isn't one of those.:D

Everybody wants to share together in Christian harmony.

All these other Faiths/Denominations/Conventions, are all going to be surprised when we all get to Heaven right after the Rapture, cause we are all gonna be Baptists.

I mean read Revelations for yourself. What are we doing for 7 YEARS!!! We are EATING at the Marriage supper of the Lamb.

:wave: Now here is the division that I CANNOT stomach! When a denomination sets out to pick one another apart - it absolutely makes me sick.

Look, I am a Baptist....don't put any other words with that one. I am a Baptist because I believe they are the closest to the Bible than any other denomination. I believe that once you accept Jesus as you Saviour, you are saved forever - not just as long as you live it. Salvation is simple - Jesus - plus nothing, minus nothing.

May God bring us silly humans back to the realization that reaching the lost is the whole purpose of 'religion' in the first place. Becoming a Christian is what it is all about. Jesus didn't die on the cross for a denomination to tell another one that they're wrong. God have mercy on us.
