Well.....things are going ok.
The devil is doing anything and everything to tear my family apart. WHY? because my family has yet to blame God for Cheyenne's death and he is maddddddddddd!
In fact Cheyenne's death has brought us close to the Lord than ever before.
I cannot go anywhere without talking about what the Lord has done for me such as providing me the strength to carry on everyday ect ect.
If I feel that someone is in need of Christ, I no longer wait for the right time to talk about Christ. I am no longer ashamed to be labled, critizied, persicuted, ect for living my life for the Lord.
I decided to home school Maddie. I just couldn't see her going back to school after the death of her sister then a month later the tragic murder of her classmate. (PS. This town needs Jesus...there are possible charges pending against Casey's parents for neglegence) (DRUGS)
So I am busy trying to teach Maddie and deal with my emotions and her emotions and everyone elses emotions that I have yet to deal with all of my grief .
Seth is doing pretty good. He points to Cheyenne's picture and says baby. I take the kids down to the cemetarty atleast once a week. To run around and get them to understand that its a "peace" spot. For them.
I am currently working on a website to not only warn parents about the dangers of window blinds, but to start tracking the children who have died since Cheyenne. I am also still persuing legal matters against the companies and manufacters. This is a huge moutian with some pretty high evil monsters at the top.
It is still so early for anything else to really happen.
I just wanted to let everyone know what was going on and how me and my family was doing.
Please continue to pray for us.
Thanks and bless you all!
GEL
PS...I am still standing with Christ holding me up!
Don't give up people! No matter what!

Thanks GEL for posting this to let us know how you've been doing.

It's amazing how God uses certain things to bring us closer to Him, instead of further away.

Praise God for all he does! Praise God for what you are doing...I think that website is a great idea.

You and your family are continually in my prayers.

To GEL:

I told my family Cheyenne's story, and I warn everyone about blinds and babies!

Then after Maddie's classmate was killed, I told my family about that, and the very difficult time Maddie has been having. Even my son, the big lug, the macho teen, was grieved.

Your family has touched the hearts of my family, and we keep you in our prayers.

Peace,

GEL, I pray that the Lord bless you and show you that though this was a tragic event it is all in His hands and He will work all things, even this, to the betterment of His body.  The Lord will use this event, and you, to help others who are in a state of bereavement.  I pray that the Lord will use you mightily to offer compassion and love to those around you.

God bless,

Don

I read your story and my heart aches for you and your family. I have a 7 month old baby girl myself. I never thought too much about window coverings being a hazard. We have verticle blinds on our windows but I've gone through the entire house and made sure that all the cords and chains hanging off of them have been securely fastend out of a childs reach. I just wanted to say thank you GEL for the warning and that my wife and I include you and your family in our prayers.

I have been informed that another child in corinth texas has died by window blinds on September 3rd, last week.
The boy was 4 years old.
I contacted the father and told him my story. Told him it is NOT our fault.
I have just recnetly learned that the oldest child to die by window blinds was 7 years old!!!!!!
These are not just babies people...these are kids!
I was told of another death 6 years old playing with the blinds while standing on a cardboard box. The box collapsed and killed her.

HOJO. My blinds were fastened the way the companies told me too. And still, my daughter was killed.
There are 5 ways a child can die from window blinds. The most common is the pull cord. The other ways are causing deaths all over america.
Please, I urge everyone..get them out of your house!

Wanted to update again
These are deaths that have occured in America in the past 4 months.
Alaska- 14 months female- May 27th-inner cord like Cheyenne
Virginia- 17 months-female June 10th
Iowa- 21 months-female August 2nd
Texas-4 year old- male- September 2nd

This is 5 children that have died in the last 5 months!!!!
I was wrong..the oldest to die was 8 years old.
There are atleast more than 4 deaths that are of the age of 4.
Just thought I would let you all know. Please pray for the families that have lost thier children!
Thanks

Thank you Gel for helping so many. I no longer have blinds. I run a licensed child care and they seem so incredibly picky but the only thing they had us do with blinds is make sure they didn't contain lead and the pull cords were up. I tell the parents of my child care your tragic story and to please get rid of blinds in their homes. I applaud you for your strength and love and pray that God continues to hold you strong. God bless you Gel! You are one of the most courageous people I know to stand up and do what must be done. As you know I live in the St. Louis area so I know the story of Casey...that is truely sad! It is great that you are able to home school your child to help the two of you be secure...a mother as a teacher is truely a blessing. Take care! Need anything feel free to ask.

Love and God Bless,
Cheri
