Shalom Mishbocha:
A couple of months ago, I put a praise report here. It concerned a contract-to-hire position with a good company at good pay. As of a week ago, 10/7/05, I was terminated from that contract.
The reasons given were vague. In fact, I was praised for 10 minutes for my contributions and accomplishments in such a short period of time. When I asked about how I could have acted differently and succeeded, I was told, “it is a small department and the chemistry was not there.” When I asked for more details, there were none.
Today, a letter came explaining my benefits under COBRA. The bottom line would be $1055.27/monthly to continue my benefits. This is not a possibility…
Other than being mystified as to the real reason I was “let go,” there have been blessings. I’ve been able to spend more time in my bible and in prayer during the “10 days of Awe,” and Yom Kippur. I was able to fast and pray. With each job change since coming to know Y’shua, it’s been better. Being submitted to Him, I rebuke the enemy and he must flee! I will not allow the enemy to steal my joy in Him, and rest in the shadow of His wings.
The world says that energy costs are going up 50% this winter. My ex- has filed to have my child support payments extended “indefinitely,” and has filed contempt charges for the arrears (accumulated years ago while unemployed and have been whittled down). There’s plenty of other “stuff” that would have me ready to despair if it were not for HaShem’s lovingkindness!
I give all the glory, honor, and praise to HaShem. I praise Him when it is easy and when it is not. His ways are not our ways – His are best.
I do ask you all to include us in your prayers. My prayer is that we go to the center of His will for us; continue His provision for us, and to open any door to opportunity for us quickly and to close all others.
