Do your insides leap when you hear it blown? :) I know mine do! Even when some doof botches it and makes a sound more like a moose mating call than a true trumpet blast - I STILL tingle from head to toe and my spirit leaps within me!
Anyone have sound file links to share?

"Online Audio Training Manual" (http://www.cbbsb.org/Observance/shofar_practice.html) to tune up your Shofar.
Covers all the types of blasts with explanations of how long to hold the notes etc.

The closest thing to a sound file I have is the "Happy New Year" card from Birthright Israel. Not profound, but darn funny: http://www.danmeth.com/shofaridol.htm

Thanks Guys :) One of the ministers blew it On Rosh Hashannah and it sounded like a rutting moose. Sunday - someone different blew it and it was WONDERFUL!

I love the sound of the shofar - well done particularly, but like a moose is OK as well! :)

I think the shofar has two distinct sounds, one that the L-RD blesses because He is in agreement that you blow it, and the other when man blows it on his own.
The moose call falls into the later catagory.
If you want to hear a beautiful rendidion of the Shofar blowing go here http://www.aish.com/wallcam/ take a moment to view what's happening at the Wall and then look to the right of the screen, page down to the little box titled Sights and Sounds of the wall, click on 'Please select' and you will find the shofar under 'Wall Sounds' Second from the bottom. Take time to listen to some of the other selections as well, it will be worth your time.
And take a moment to (Pray for those who are praying at the wall).

It's wonderful isn't it? Especially when looking over thousands of miles to Yerushalyim, and the wall, a wall that very likely Yeshua walked by many a time.

There is a tv program called "Jewish Jewels" that I enjoy watching and they did a wonderful program on the shofar. It is available to watch online at
www.jewishjewels.org (http://www.jewishjewels.org) :)

Zayit's husband is quite the shofar blower!
I am getting better at it but every once in a while I do get a moose rut
Remember that the Shofar is a weapon of war. And even a dull sword can be very dangerous in the hands of one who is determined!
