Welcome to the Workshop!

I am your host, Josephus, and this is a forum specifically for believers who share the basic tenets of the faith:

1. Believe that God exists
2. Believes that the bible is true and the infallible word of God.
3. Have recieved Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives for the salvation of their souls from the concequence of sin.

And also believe in the creation of the new man which God has given new believers to live, serve, and glorify Him in our everyday lives until our death or His comming.

We now have a forum just for posting our own questions to other Christians so that we can be built up in our faith - not torn down.

If someone posts in here a topic that is evident that they do not agree with these three basic beliefs of Christianity, then they will asked to refer to the Round Tables area for their topics concerning the basic issues of Christianity such as the existence of God, the trinity, whether or not there is such a thing called hell, the accuracy of the bible, etc, and more.

Topics not conforming to the three belief standard will be removed to the appropriate forum. Topics hijacked with issues stemming from a disbelief in these three beliefs will have the offending post deleted to keep the topic on track - though we as an administration and moderation team will try to be lenient, but we hope you respect the theme and nature of this forum if you do visit.

The Workshop is for someone to start topics about questions they have regarding doctrine in the bible - and by people expecting answers based on biblical doctrine. If someone comes in here with a belief that the bible is not true, then obviously they are in the wrong forum because this forum is not here to debate that. The Round Tables is provided for generalized topics about faith such as Christianity, Islam, Atheism, etc.

Thank you and again welcome to the Workshop!

The assistant crafter under the Master,

Josephus

Okay, who told you that I try and steal all the cake at CCC?

Well, there's only one piece with a "building truck" left on it (as my kids call backhoes, cement mixers and haul trucks). I'm saving it for you. :)

You didn't come by...the dog got the last piece. She enjoyed it if the icing all over her snout was any indication.

Well, one would hope that you are a concerned pet owner and you scoop your poop.

Oh, this is too funny. Karen scoopin' poop!

savinggrc
25th July 2001, 11:54 PM
Well, since we only have the one dog now, we don't scoop anymore. She only poops in the front yard - or on the sidewalk if it's raining and she's scared or in the house if there's thunder and it literally scares the, uh, ahem, poop outta her.

I have scooped more than my share of poop though - lots of it online!!!! :rollin:

ya'll can call me "Hal Lindsey's #1 Poop-scoopin fan"

But Karen, you have kiddies. You let that poopl lay in the yeard!!!

Kids get worms that way...ugh!

The kids play in the backyard. The dog potties in the front yard. :) So all the neighbors can see - she has no shame.

I really like the workshop! I really like the idea of talking to only other believers about the bible and our understanding of it. I'm not into argueing with non-believers about something they don't understand.

altho the preceeding convo leaves something to be desired

If it makes you feel any better I have three dogs (one inside and two out) and I live on a farm so they kinda pick a spot and take a squat. lol  (I can't believe I just typed that lol)

Thanks for the new board!

In Christ's Love,
Tracy

I have a question for the moderators:
When you say this section is for Christians only, are you including the Catholics??? (From what I know, Catholics rather be know as "Catholics" than Christians -- my Catholic friends never address themselves as Christians but Catholics)

If so, how is it Catholics can question Christian posts here but we can't question their doctrines in the Interfaith or Catholic beliefs sections? I find this odd and unfair.

It's like they can question and refute protestant beliefs and practices but we cant do the same. eg I get a warning for just telling a protestant that having to go to confession b4 you can take the communion is a bondage.

Wow, it's like their doctrines and beliefs are untouchable but protestants' beliefs/doctrines are open game for any one to criticise. :(

Well I hope so Andrew since Catholics are Christians. It's like they can question and refute protestant beliefs and practices but we cant do the same. eg I get a warning for just telling a protestant that having to go to confession b4 you can take the communion is a bondage
I think it depends on the phrasing, Andrew. Referring to an essential practice of someone's faith as "bondage" would fall under the heading of impolite.

I make it a point to never criticize another persons faith. I expect the same of others.

Peace and Welcome to the Forum,
Annabel

Hello everyone > Peace to You

I have been studying the Apocrypha and Lost Books; and in scanning the threads; it seems that some of you have knowledge of these writings. I would like to engage in some fruit-producing discussion that will be intended to prove their validity.

Anyone interested?

Sure thing. This is the forum for such discussion.

In regards to Catholics posting in here, they are welcome, but they are to keep in mind this place is for discussing non-essential Christian doctrines (like speaking in tongues, or once saved always saved, women in the church, etc.) and not the place to talk about Catholic beliefs because One Bread exists for that medium.

Thanks Josephus>>>I wanted to make sure I was in the right place ;)

I'll work something up soon and start a thread. I have been doing alot of studying and I am amazed at how many of my questions have been answered. I feel that many will be interested.

Have a fine day!

I really did not want my first post to appear controversial, but I have a question about rule #2. How would you define 'infallible' for the infallible word of God? No muss, no fuss, just curious.

Welcome Mephibosheth

I don't think you have to worry about feeling like you being controversial :D

I think that the rule writers should be the ones to answer your question. I just wanted to welcome you. When your posting; somehow you forget there's alot of people out there listening.

P>S> You must tell me about your name.

This sounds to me like it would be an interesting thread, although I'll point out that it's come up occasionally under "General Apologetics". You might look there for more insights.

I am new to this whole sight and feeling my way around. I see this thread and jumped thru the roof...Praise the Lord. To help and encourage each other and not tear down.....YES, in the fellowship of true Christian love. But I do have one question?
I understand the word of God is with out error...totally and completely. But what of the transilations that we each use. Is it ok to use what we feel we understand the best. Cause many ppl will debate the version as the reason of the reliability or lack of. I do believe all transilations are infalliable...or how ever its spelled. I praise God that we have his word translated in many diff languages and versions to further his cause and spread the good news. I'm a NIV'er for most of my study.......but love the KJV, the New KJV too...I own several diff transilations.

Hi musicllover,

I am also glad to have many translations of the Bible. I have people in my small group that have the new plain english version amd I love to hear them read from it because I can hear it speaking to them.

Blessings

Hi all. I am new here and right now the boards are a little confusing to me. I hope to chat with you all a lot more on these boards as I try to sort out all of these posts and categories etc.

Thank the Lord for all of these believers here. God bless.

Hi, youthnation
...and welcome to the Christian Forums - good to have you with us.

Have a wander around and get used to the site, I'm sure that you'll find several forums that you can easily settle down in.

You'll find that some of the forums are for Christians Only and there are some that are open for anyone to participate in discussion and debate.

Can I suggest that you start by having a look and the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs link at the top of each page) and our Forum Rules (a link can be found at the bottom of every page)? :)

Then when you find a thread you like (or start your own) jump in - the water's fine! :pink:

Look forward to reading some of your posts....

Blessings,
Martin
