I've been reading

The Interlinear Greek New Testament

lately (my nice-mom bought me one),

and...

I'm

-SHOCKED- ,

at how different it is from other bibles.

Even the N.A.S.V. (=Gideons Bible),

appears vastly different.

(Example: Did you know that Mary's name,

is really Mariam? Or that it's the parable of the wheat and the darnel? )

I feel that the other translations are (at least somewhat) innacurate.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

I would say that the older translations appear more inaccurate but , that would be because the language has been changing . I keep in mind that the translators are only giving their best interpretation of the texts that they have through their limited understanding of the ancient languages they are attempting to interpret .

(besides the Alpha Beta Gama Delta etc.)

I also mean -HOW- the language flows.

Although some words are reversed in English,

it's -EXACTLY- what was said in the way it was said.

It appears (to me) to be -VASTLY- more descriptive.

Example:

John 3:16
----------

so For loved God the world,

so as the Son of Him,

the only begotten,

He gave,

that everyone believing -INTO- Him,

not may perish,

but have life-everlasting.

-----------------------------

Wow!

(but what thinkest -THOU-? )

Peace in Christ.
