Many of you just love to condemn little old heretic me. Fine, it is water off a duck's back. But I wonder how many of you are posting in your employer's time and do you think that is moral?
I am at home and post in my own time.

We are under the authority of our employers. So if they say we can't, then we shouldn't.
I use to bring my laptop to work until my boss said something. He didn't say I could never bring it, but I could tell he didn't like it. So I just keep it at home.
I brung it in to write a script, which is work. I didn't use it for online stuff.

Funny how few people have replied to this thread! Guilty consciences, maybe?

I am not posting in my employer's time. Mine is at home. Although I must admit it is on my folks time.

What's your point?
That Christians sin?
Well DUHHH!
Read the bible, Christians have always been sinning.
The laws aren't to make us righteous in God's eyes.
The law is for us, it's for our well being.

I know for a fact that many people on other Christian forums on which I post are posting when they should be working. Their excuse is that they will make up the time later! As most of them post on and off all day, I wonder when they are likely to make up the time? These same people are very judgemental about the faults they perceive in others; makes you wonder how they justify stealing time from their employer though!

I post before work and during lunch..if I have something to say. Sometimes I get back on very briefly in the late afternoon.

Never worked with 3D have ya ;)
When files are compiling /data crunching / or parts drying, I do have some free time, just like when I'm at home on "my own time" I'm studying / compiling / writing code for work.

I post during work all the time, but since I am self employed I suppose it is OK.

so what's the point of this finger pointing? I was in a second grade classroom today and, funny thing, when the kids would get in trouble for doing something they ought not (i.e. being grabby), the very first thing they'd point out is that so-and-so did it first or point out something else somebody else was doing.
Personally, I think we need to move out of the second grade here and maybe investigate 'motes' and 'beams' (and, yes this applies to me too).
God bless.

wow -
You point out the 'unethicalness/dishonesty' of robbing employers, and then when
only 1 member in 3 hrs. posts, you assume it's for a 'Guilty?conscience'. - Might it occur to you that people are actually 'working, during this time'?
Also - (beyond self-employing),
with what other honest-resources may people chose posting during this time?
And as well, feel Free adopting more positive:wave:-attitudes...

I don't see how one can concentrate on their employers work and post at the same time. Judging by one or two reactions I have struck a raw nerve

I post during work often, as in right now! I'm not doing anything morally wrong at all!

Deskjockey how can you not be doing anything wrong if you are posting whilst you are supposed to be concentrating on your work? Does your employer say 'please go ahead post as much as you want', or is your employer in ignorance? If you are being paid to work, messing around on the computer is surely stealing your employer's time and as bad as stealing anything else?

Uhm no, I am paid to do a job and i do it, the job is done. Should I sit and gather dust in a corner with the lights off untill they need me again like a broom?
Don't take this the wrong way but I believe you are just looking for a nerve to hit "whilst" your posting.

I am a homemaker, and post throughout the day when I have free moments.
I am sure you are right that there are many posting when they should be working. There are times when I post when I should be doing housework. I can't excuse this simply because I only work for myself and my husband at home, because ultimately all of my time belongs to God, and if I'm not doing what He wants with it, I'm not being a faithful steward.
Whatever your intentions for posting this, I think can be a good reminder for all of us - if we will choose to accept it.
God often uses others to point out our own failings - even when those others may not be doing it with the intention of helping us. Will we allow Him to speak to us, regardless of the way He chooses to do it?
With love in Christ,
Grace

I don't think we have any business to point out the perceived failings of others, as adults what we do is our own business as long as it is legal and we are not hurting other people!

But see
1) you assume that there stealing (time) when they may be allowed to use there time for posting. Lunch, Break, Multitasking
Example. I'm running timing test for some test equipment I'm programing the software for, while the test is running, my work system is tied up crunching the numbers, so I can use the laptop to post. The Managament ALLOWS this.

How about the possibility of people: Not 'employment'-working ? who can, nonetheless, post when they want.
Judging by one or two reactions I have struck a raw nerve
by 'Judging': you mean 'your pre-suppositional perceptions'?
