View Full Version : Parallel themes Elul/Rosh HaShanah - Yeshua begins

Let me try this again :) ….
Yeshua was born in the fall (most agree with this in messianic thought), so when Luke says he was about 30 when he took this mikveh, then was test for 40 days, then began public ministry – is it possible that these things perhaps took place during the season of Elul/Rosh HaShanah and can we draw parallels between the themes?
Luke 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age…
In light of the themes of the month of Elul and of Rosh HaShanah do you think there may be parallels between the forty days of testing? And the message Yeshua proclaimed after the forty days? “Turn from your sins to God, for the kingdom of heaven is near!”

I hope this isn't a highjack Debi, what you said maid me think of the 144,000 during the Trib and what they may be doing there...
Matthew 3:16-17 16 And after being baptized, Jesus went up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon Him, 17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased."
maybe this is how the 144,000 will be sealed
Matthew 4:18-20 18 And walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." 20 And they immediately left the nets, and followed Him.
maybe the 144,000 will gather up people who get saved during the trib this way
Matthew 4:23 23 And Jesus was going about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people.
and maybe this is how they (144,000) will minister during the trib
Matthew 7:28 - 8:1 28 The result was that when Jesus had finished these words, the multitudes were amazed at His teaching; 29 for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
and maybe they will even teach Torah to everyone who will listen...this is just a thought but maybe the pattern for those 144,000 will be like Yeshua and his ministery years only...
John 14:12-14 12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to the Father. 13 "And whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 "If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.
well He said it ...
just a thought ....

kewl :)
I was just thinking that if the timeframe of Yeshua beginning his public address was during the season of Elul and Rosh HaShanah - what better time could there have been? The month of Elul seems to be the perfect time of preparation for the greatest message ever to have come to Isreal: return to Elohim, Messiah has come!

and 40 days of temptation yet without sin and we have 40 days to repent of our sin...and isn't it the hardest thing to do....get rid of our sin...and what did he do....spoke the word/Torah and said "get behind me Satan" that should be what we do too....
