Great answer Brian. Many 'Christians' have been misled by his teachings. I am happy to see that you are 'grounded' and will not fall prey.
Who is this guy and what are his teachings , I have never heard of him .

He basically believes that Christians are practicing a 'pagan ' form' of religion because it has been 'hellenisized' by the Greek NT, that the Cross [he calls it execution stake] points back to the 'Law' He is constantly bashing everything Christian and wants to convert everyone from a 'pagan' Christian into his belief system. He has made all sorts of extra Biblical claims that have never been proven.[fables] He has also made predictions, and none of them have come to pass. [false prophet] A lot of 'seeking' Christians have been misled by his teachings. He claims to be a Messianic Karaite Jew, but Karaites do not believe in the Messiah, which make this a contradiction in terms. Because of his predictions failing, he blamed it on the Hebrew calendar, and has now changed it to come up with his own 'sacred' calendar.

Yep , he's a false prophet , but I don't think he would have to many followers .
What made you place this question in Israelology ?
Have you thought about placing it elsewhere ?

The problem with Michael Rood, is even though he shows disdain for Christians with his followers, most Christians are unaware of this. He has been on TBN, and from what I understand his shows[teachings] are being carried on Enlace {a channel owned by TBN} on Sky Angel Network. Your average Christian has become so gullible these days, and do not check people out before endorsing them. Christian newspapers run articles on him as well as Christian radio. They promote his shows without really understanding his agenda.

Michael Rood is absolutely right. Christianity *has* adopted pagan practices into their worship of Yeshua. The children of Israel did the same thing when they built a golden calf and dedicated a feast to YHVH.
The Torah *is* the marriage covenant. To reject the Torah, is to reject the marriage covenant and hence, to reject the Groom.

I am familiar with Michael Rood, I have seen his shows and read his theories, he has alot of good points. I agree with some of the 'pagan' issues, It is quite possible that in an attempt to convert non-christians the early christian church (i.e Roman Catholic) took on some pagans beliefs to appease or compromise. Americans celebrate Easter now by coloring easter eggs and having children hunt them, that was not what easter was originally about, pagan's sacrificed their children and dipped eggs in the childrens blood and that was suppose to make them fertile the next year, yeah, kill children to make more children, what a concept. Christmas tree's are a representation of Ba'al's *****, sorry if anyone get's offended by that but that is what it is suppose to be. So yes, most 'christians' are celebrating Holy Days in a pagan way. I tend to lean toward Messianic Judaism because they go back to the original hebrew and take a more literal interpretation of the bible. The roots of Christianity is in Judaism, The Hebrews introduced us to the word of God. No where in the bible does it say to do away with Jewish Festivals (Holy Days). Also, we are still under Mosaic law, that was never repealed as seems to be the common misconception in christian churches today. The New Testament builds upon the Old Testament, and gives us a deeper understanding of God and His statutes and how to best carry them out. The New Covenant does not replace the old, it merely modifies.

I've never heard of Michael Rood.
However, my husband and I celebrate Passover every year and host a Passover feast for churches so that the congregations can learn about the Feasts that we are to celebrate to this day.

I can not believe how many people follow someone without even researching their background and beliefs, or lack there of. Once again, I would suggest that everyone should read these informative articles. This one was written by a former "way" member, the same "cult" that Michael borrowed much of his theology from:
http://www.empirenet.com/~messiah7/spl_rood.htm
These are also some well written articles:
http://www.isitso.org/guide/rood.html
http://www.isitso.org/guide/wyatt.htm
This site is your "one stop shopping" for all things "Rood", as well as articles that address other false teachers.

I've seen him a few times.... and wasn't too impressed, so I never cared to seek out his background.
I'll see what I can find later.
