Father God, we thank you for your Spirit that inhabits us when we are born again!!

To be born again of your wonderous Holy Spirit, Oh Lord, may we fall to our knees and thank you for the new birth!!!

Your Spirit, for indeed the Comforter has come!!

The indwelling Spirit of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!!

For if anyone be In Christ, they are a new creation, old things have passed away and all things have become new!

All honor, All glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the author of my salvation!

Yes, definitely. One must be born again to truly be a Christian :)

By the grace of God, yes!

By natural means we are born of the flesh, and brought into being in this physical world. By the grace of God through Christ Jesus we are born into the Spirit by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in us. This is our 'second birth' our birth into the spiritual world symbolically shown by many by water baptism.

Maybe according to man's standards and finite understanding-Not God's.

God's ways are not man's ways.

Anyone that denies absolute truth is blinded from the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

It is my hope and prayer that all that reject and deny Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior might be drawn to the Son by the Father so that they might be saved from eternal damnation, for the days are short.

I'm born again. I love it, i believe to be born again means to have your spirit reborn through Christ when you have accepted him as your Lord and Savior.

Droobie:
Read 2 Cor. 3:3. Once a person surrenders his will to Christ, this takes place. Christ becomes his new Master.

And if one does not do this?? we are told that [none] are doing their own thing! Try Eph. 6:12

Then take a peek at the ex/christian in mature rebellion, and his 'offering' in Gen. 4:7. Take note of his face to face meeting with his first Master, and the Words of 'caution' that he received before he made his fatal decision!
Also notice that the 'd'evil was right there to claim his subject, (as always)now notice whose 'desire' Cain was now [working for]!

>>What is it to be 'born again'?

Paul talks about it in 1 Cor. 15:22 "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive."

To be a Christian is to become a Child of God, to take on a new nature. To no longer be conformed to the image of Adam, but to become like Jesus. In every way we can become just like He was, when He walked the Earth. He came to set an example for us to follow. We are told that we will even do greater works that He did. Because of the Holy Spirit in us.

Ephes. 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

John 14:12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

Jesus came to rescue the lost, heal the sick, save people from their sin. He went about doing good and helping the people. It is out job to rescue, save, heal and deliver. We should be able to demonstrate the power of God. We should turn away from those who are carnal and deny the power of God.

2 Tim. 3:5a Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

OK: Droobie,
'i' see that most here are born again? So the next question is, we are now recreated as Adam & Eve were in 'spiritual' perfection! Rom. 8:1. Lucifer before his rebellion was also created perfect!

So, we now have our names recorded in the Lambs 'Book of Life', [today]. We have the required [starting point]. (the 'starting' point) Perfect in Christ  Power from Christ ! Phil. 4:13 & 2 Cor. 12:9.

Again, PERFECT, yet FREE! Given the 'Ernest' of the Holy Ghost! (down payment)
So was Lucifer, and so were Adam & Eve. So were 1/3 of the fallen angels.
Inspiration say that it is an EVERLASTING GOSPEL & AN EVERLASTING [COVENANT]! Rev. 14:6 & Heb. 13:20.

NOW WHAT???
What lacketh these perfect one yet?? [CHARACTER!] Faith! MATURITY!
Notice:
"And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee ... and thou [shalt be turned into another man]. ... And it [was so], ... God GAVE HIM ANOTHER SPIRIT]." Check 1 Sam. 10:6-9 in completness.

Saul was ALSO PERFECT! Started out great. Yet was 'free' to develope CHARACTER IN CHRIST ["IF"] he always wanted to?

This is where we [ALL] are at in the end of time. What happened to Saul will happen to most of us, simply because we so choose! Look around? Inside the denominations, and inside of the Virgin one of Matt. 25 even!! Notice again,
"But the [SPIRIT of THE LORD departed] from Saul, and an [evil spirit from the Lord troubled him]." 1 Sam. 16:14 We all knows what the Words Word, of Grieve & Quench mean? One more example of CHARACTER testing? Na. 1:9
Read Gen. 4:6-7 for another good 'perfect' start, to an totally 'free very foolish Decision'. And for whose spirit finally took away Gods 'Ernest' down payment. And where this transpires, remember that there is ALWAYS TO BE AN [CLOSING]!
Yet, these backed out of the [COVENANT] ones have a DESIRE for something! (SOMEONE)

Remember that it is INSPIRATION that tells us that [His Holy Spirit will not ALWAYS [[[STRIVE]]] with man]. Gen. 6:3 (good or bad ones!)

So in conclusion, what do you think was necessary for the once 'saved ones' to advert the prophecy of Eze. 9? Read it s-l-o-w-l-y for the answer is there for the TWO class of folks living in the Master's true Virgin denomination of the end days. This we are told is where JUDGEMENT MUST START FIRST! 1 Peter 4:17-Lev. 16:14.

This reply is mainly for those who "are not sure" if they are born again.

Look at this dear ones:

1 John 5:1 (Webster)
Whoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ, [size=4]is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat, loveth him also that is begotten by him.

EVERYONE who believes that Jesus is the Christ IS born again. God said so. Settle it in you heart and mind. Say it to yourself and believe.

Unsure if you believe that Jesus is the Christ?

Look at this one!

Acts 2:32
(WNT)  "Therefore let the whole House of Israel know beyond all doubt that God has made Him both LORD and CHRIST- this Jesus whom you crucified."

GOD made Jesus the Christ... it says so right there.

He does not lie and He knows what He is talking about. If He says Jesus is the Christ... He is. There is no way we can deny it! Even if we do, He is still Lord and Christ anyway, because it is God who make Him so!

Not sure if He is your Lord?

Look at this one!

Acts 10:36
(YLT)  the word that he sent to the sons of Israel, proclaiming good news--peace through Jesus Christ (this one is Lord of all,)

Jesus is Lord of all. He is the Lord of every man, woman, and child, living or dead, Jew or Gentile. He is your Lord. It does not matter what we do or say. He is Lord and Christ... Period. We cannot change it. We cannot stop it.

How can we help believe?

And because we believe, we are born again!

YOU are born again!

Praise Him!

I am born of God.
I am an adopted son of the Heavenly Father
I am a brother to my Lord Jesus
I am a temple to the indwelling Spirit of God.
I am a friend of my Lord Jesus because I do his will.
I am a fellow heir of Christ with all the saints.
I am a pilgrim seeking a heavenly city, who builder and maker is God.
I am a righteous man because I have believed upon him who makes rightesous by faith.
I am a sanctified man because my Father seperates unto himself those who obey him.
I am a wise man because I have believed the testimony of Christ.
I am a chosen man because I could not have Gods covenant without his choosing me.
I am a living man because God who loves me is the God of the living and not the dead (spiritually).
I am the dwelling place of the Father and the Son because I do his will.

It certainly FEELS as if I've been born again. In the last month or so I've come to accept Christ and my life has changed dramatically because of it. I went from no religion to a strong Knowledge as to what is real. And my whole world has been turned upside down. Feels like a brand new life!

In John 3:3, Jesus says that a person must be born again in order to see the kingdom of God.

Romans 9:9-10 says "That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart, man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

I am born again, and it's by God's grace. I've accepted that I am a sinner, I needed to be saved from my own sins. I believe that Jesus DID die for my sins, and that through His finished work, my only part is to believe in that, and allowing Him to be the Lord of my life. My decisions are all His now, and I do nothing without His consent. He is my Lord and Savior.

If I were you, I would read very carefully the book of Acts and do what they did to be saved, start with chapter 2 of Acts and you won't go wrong.  Do exactly what the three thousand did, and let the Lord add you to his church, but you must find the right preacher.

Yes I know I'm born again, of the water and of the spirit, just like the three thousand in Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. This is the bible example of being born again. And If you didn't do it the way they did it in the book of Acts 2 and on you might want to check again.

If you were to die today are you 100% sure you would go to
HEAVEN? Yes___No___?
Please read the following if you answered No
to the question above.
Could you honestly say the following??

Jesus Christ, "I am just as good as you. I have never lusted in my heart; I have never lied; Never cheated; Never stolen anything; Never hated anyone; Never thought a dirty thought. Never said anything wrong; Never lost my temper. I am just as good as you are Jesus. I have never sinned.

Now, if you are truly honest with yourself, you know that somewhere, somehow you have sinned. You know that you could not compare yourself to the Holy Son of God, Jesus Christ.

BECAUSE OF THE ABOVE, THE BIBLE SAYS THAT
YOU ARE SEPARATED FROM GOD.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" ".your iniquities have separated between you and your God..."

YOU HAVE BROKEN THE LAWS OF GOD
"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." "For the wages of sin is death..."

YOU ARE CONDEMNED BY GOD AT THIS MOMENT.
"... he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." "it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" "The wicked shall be turned into hell..."

BUT JESUS CHRIST LOVES YOU AND DIED FOR YOU.
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN.
"Jesus saith., I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

NOW THAT YOU HAVE THE TRUTH THE DECISION IS YOURS!

WILL YOU REPENT?
"The Lord is... not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out," Repentance is when a person admits his guilt to God, and sincerely desires in his heart to get right with God.

"...repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ."

WILL YOU TRUST JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR?
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Jesus Christ died, was buried and rose again from the dead. He paid for your sins on the cross. That is why He is called the Saviour. You cannot save yourself by good works; baptism, church attendance, sacraments, going to confession; giving money, praying to Mary and the saints, or trying to live a good life. In order to be saved, you must completely put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

CAN YOU AFFORD TO WAIT?
The most important decision that you will make in this life will be that of either trusting or rejecting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Don't take a chance! Call on God now! You might not be alive tomorrow!

DEAR FRIEND,
In your own words pray and tell God that you are guilty as a sinner, and that you now believe that Jesus Christ is the Saviour, and that you now want to completely trust Him, and ONLY HIM as your Lord and Saviour.

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and speak in tongues and thou shalt be saved." Not quite... ;)

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."

Period. Acts 16:31.

Feelings are not required for salvation either, by the way. Emotion aren't bad, and can often be good, but salvation is not an emotional thing... :) It's a change in your heart and will and mind, giving them over to Jesus, letting Him "in your heart" as your Lord and Savior.

And yes.. I'm born again =)

Yes I am.. Praise God.

To be born again means to receive salvation, and be saved by receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour. Salvation is God's will for you, MADE REAL on earth. All His abundant blessings are freely available in salvation. It includes everything Jesus Christ died to provide. A new life, peace with God, righteousness, mercy, perfect health, unfailing love, faith, deliverance, power, and joy.

Simply put, it is God's life in us, 'Christ IN YOU'

Here is a different point of view:

The term “born again” only appears in two different places in the NT, first in John 3 and second in 1Peter 1. Yet today we hear the term all the time. Let’s look at what it possibly meant back in the first century.

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him." In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!" Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." "How can this be?" Nicodemus asked. "You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things? I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven--the Son of Man. John3:1-13

Here we have a conversation between Jesus and Nic (short for Nicodemus). They are actually discussing the concept of being born again. Jesus has His focus on spiritual concepts while Nic is confused by his physical/earthly interpretations. They are both talking about 2 births, Jesus is talking about 2 spiritual births while Nic is thinking of 2 physical births.

It is important to realize here that Nic is a Pharisees, a child of God by the first covenant. Nic had already had one spiritual birth in his life. This is why Jesus tells Nic that ‘he’ must be born again. He must receive a second spiritual birth, that of the new covenant, that of the Spirit of God. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. Jesus even seems a little frustrated with Nic when he says "You are Israel's teacher, and do you not understand these things?…” Jesus is trying to explain to Nic that there are two spiritual births and Nic having performed one must also perform the other. The first being of the first covenant and the second of the new covenant.

With this in mind we see that he term ‘born again’ only applies to first century Jews. The Gentiles were not considered the children of God, and the term is not used in reference to them.

The point I am trying to make is not to get caught up in thinking that the 2 births being discussed here is one physical (from mom) and one spiritual (from God). Even Nic didn’t think that, he thought he had to born of mom twice?? Jesus is telling a child of God, a Jew, how to enter the Kingdom of God, to be born of the Spirit, so in Nic’s case he needed to be born again. We, non first century Jews, only need one birth, that is one spiritual birth. We must be born of the Spirit. Not born again, just born.

Can anybody see this spiritual concept??

See ya, Idaho Bassman

Yes, Nicodemus wrongly thought you had to be born physically twist, but Jesus told him no, spiritually this time.

I see no corrolation... not that it matters, hehe, this is like a discussion on the term now, not the meaning ;)

Actually, though, many many many cults and such say "born again" and mean different things by it.... so, yeah. :)

(by the way, I can't see at ALL how keeping a covenant has anything to do with the word "born" :D)

To me being 'born again' is to realize that I am a spirit on a human journey, that I am part of God as God is part (or all) of me. I read the words of Jesus and am inspired and challenged to live by what he taught. I still struggle at times, because I allow fear to intrude, but when I choose love and cast out fear the joy in my heart is almost unbearable.

If you think about it, to say "born again" christian is redundant, because if you are "born again" you become a christian, and if you want to become a christian, you must be "born again". There one and the same.

I'm Born Again also.

To be born again is to be cleaned of your sins completely (ie: Being re-born, leaving your sins in your 'previous life') and to start a new life with Jesus.

Personally, when i got born again i didn't feel particularly special (no big fireworks or miracles or anything, possible because i felt slightly pressured into it), but, when i look at how much my life has improved by it, i can't help but notice everything that God has done for me.

Hi, Pastor N.B. here: -----(some added emphasis)
I am lovingly sorry to disagree with you, and with most here in this thread, it appears? But 'honestly' there is no such Gospel that can save without the Everlasting Covenant & Everlasting Gospel [conditions]! Matt. 28:20's instructions. (see Rev. 14:6's first part & Heb. 13:20's last part) What [time frame] do these 'Everlasting Words' cover? (eternal)

Promises are of NO AVAIL without the {{ETERNAL}} conditions! Try Matt. 4's 'scriptural' quote from the 'd'evil to the Master Himself in verse 6! satan quoted Psalms 91:11 to Christ! What was wrong with that promise he quoted ?
No, the Master quoted the Old Testament [Everlasting Covenant condition] of Deuteronomy 6:16. We will find that He still 'Was the same yesterday, today and forever' & yes.. 'He changeth not'! His answer to satan was seen in Matt. 4:7 of the New Testament as well as the Old Testament.

All here seem to void out (see Rom. 3:31) the Everlasting Covenant & think that they only need to 'believe' something else  But by having a one/half 'g'ospel belief is no belief at all! (if one leaves Heb. 5's milk??)

To think otherwise would be to also nullify the MASTER'S WORD of verse 4 of Matt 4  It was He Himself that said:
"It [is written] (??where?? try Deut. 8:3) Man shall not live by bread alone,
[but by *EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDETH OUT OF *THE MOUTH OF GOD]."

And what of the New testament verse of 2 tim. 3:16 that tells us that [ALL SCRIPTURE] is used for 'reproof', 'for correction' for instruction in rightousness' 'That the man of God may be perfect', and O'yes, ... ['AND IS PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE'].

No personal offence intended!----P/N/B/

No offence taken, but what is your point. I looked up the scriptures you refered to, but not sure where you were going with them. This thread is talking about being 'born again' ( a term which only applied to first century Jews). How are you applying your scripture reference to this topic?

P/N/B/ here:
What is your point you ask?
Just that [all mankind is lost]. ALL professed Christians are no Christians unless they ARE BORN AGAIN. Jn. 3:5-8. And anything else by any of us who profess, & do not obey ALL SCRIPTURE is like counting rosery beads, Useless! OBEDIENCE is [impossible] with out being re/created with AGAPE LOVE! Phil. 4:13 & 2 Cor. 12:9.

ALL saved Christians are included in the Eternal Covenant & Everlasting Gospel of FREE CHOICE! Even angels who repented at Lucifer's rebellion, those that did not pass the boundaries of probation. Try Rev. 14:6 & Heb. 13:30 for the eternity or this everlasting truth of the Gospel & the Covenant Royal law. It must be [recreated] into the heart! (new birth)

You say that applied to the first century Jew? Nonesense! (no offence meant) Do you think that the unfallen worlds (plural) were not born with the FIRST TIME WITH LOVE FOR CHRIST?? And even Lucifer, do you think that he did not Love Christ & His COVENANT when he was created??
[ALL] were created perfect!! All that they lacked was CHARACTER, this came by being tested, like us. What do you think the tree was in the midst of the garden of Eden for

You might study what happened in 2 Cor. 3:3 & Heb. 10:16 to see what the new birth is all about? And in Deut. 30:6 we find out what spiritual 'circumcism' is all about.

Seeing that you are reading these verses, 1 Samual 10:6-9 tell of King Saul's [FIRST] Heart Transplant! (new birth-born again) Also it says THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD CAME UPON SAUL!
And yes it also tells us that that he later on BLASPHEMED the Lord in DISOBEDIENCE. See 1 Sam. 16:14. "But the SPIRIT OF THE LORD DEPARTED from Saul, and [an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him." I suspect that I can not leave it there either? For perhaps one cannot understand what that means? So check Gen. 4:7 to see what spirit Cain inherited? Even with a feverant desire after his mature rebellion!

This is all that I was speaking of. (bottom line) There is no other name given among men whereby anyone can be saved! And there is no other way to be saved without SURRENDERING THE STUBBORN WILL TO THE MASTER! Try 1 Sam. 15:19-23!! And yes, Heb. 11 tells us that we are ALL SAVED THE SAME WAY  ----P/N/B/

I agree, thanks Lord! Now I have finally found the starting point. But now what, Lord? You know that I am being constantly told that, that is all that there is to it! Only 'believe'! Are these ones fakes or am I reading something into your Word that is just not there?

Does not one require the Holy Spirit in their life (soul) to have the Born Again requirement?? You say so, Lord, "That the Holy Spirit is given to all that OBEY HIM." Acts 5:32

Well Lord, your Word is by His INSPIRATION He says, and there are requirements are there not? 1 John 2:4 seems to say that all the talk of profession in the world will not do the trick without 'keeping your commandments!?? Liar Lord, with NO TRUTH? Wow! And there are 66 books of this inspiration, which you YOURSELF have told us that "Man doth not live by bread alone, BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDETH OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD". Matt. 4:4 ALL SCRIPTURE is way toooo much for the un/coverted to handel, you say? Well sort'a? See 2 Tim. 3:16----P/N/B/

Eek, I put not sure and should of put no.
I believe there is more to being born again than just believing Jesus is Lord and confessing it with your mouth. I was baptised (emersion), I believed and confessed, but there was no change.

I feel bad I have hurt others and know I have sinned against God, but I still deep down feel that somehow I am still worthy. If I am not broken yet, how can God fix me? :sigh:

If we do not believe without doubt, aren't we the same as unbelievers?
Faith produces action.
If we believed what Jesus said we would do as he commanded.

I have never met a person who obeys Jesus' commands.

By logical deduction then, I have never met anyone with faith in Jesus.

Hence, I Have never met anyone saved by that faith.

Jesus said that we shall know the truth(he is the truth) and the truth shall set us free. directly after saing that he says that anyone who sins is a slave to sin and that as long as he is a slave he has no permanent place in the family.

I've never met anyone free from sin.

In 1 John it says anyone who is born of God overcomes the world, and that the victory that overcomes the world is their faith.
Jesus said that for someone to see the kingdom of god he must be born again.

If we do not beleive without a doubt(have faith), we are not born of god(born again), and aren't saved.

I've been thinking that maybe we(including me) should humble ourselves with mourning, prayer, and fasting in order to recieve God's grace, which is the faith we so earnestly covet. As it is written "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble." "You have been saved by grace through faith - and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." Or maybe this is just stupid logic.

Jesus said (KJV) "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

If you're born again, and Have faith In the Son of God..... Prove it.

hehheheheheeheheeheehehehheeh - seriously all have fallen short of the glory of God but God, by His grace and not by what we do, have freely given salvation (being born again) to any who believe in Jesus and accept him as their personal Lord and Saviour. Do you believe in Jesus? Do you accept his as your personal Lord and Saviour? If you do, you are born again!!! It is that simple!!! God says come as you are, not come me to perfect and then I will accept you.

Church slogans should say, "The perfect need not to apply. This church only accepts sinners, people who are not perfect, those seeking to a purpose in life".

Understand?

If we do not beleive without a doubt(have faith), we are not born of god(born again), and aren't saved.

I don't really understand what you are saying here, but I believe in God, but sometimes have doubts, King David had doubts, Job had doubts, Peter had doubts, Paul had doubts, Timothy had major doubts, but were they not people who followed God, who God called his children, who are indeed in heaven???

If you're born again, and Have faith In the Son of God..... Prove it.

Seriously, I don't need to prove me faith to no-one, I know I am saved, I believe in the promises of God, I believe that His Son died for me and rose again, I believe that he is now seated on his throne in heaven and I know he is praying for me. I know that God loves, cares and has a plan for me.

I've never met anyone free from sin.

Only Jesus could say He is without sin, and I mean only Jesus

In 1 John it says anyone who is born of God overcomes the world, and that the victory that overcomes the world is their faith.
Jesus said that for someone to see the kingdom of god he must be born again.

Do you think we can overcome the nature of the flesh, the sinful nature, the world on our own??? Of course not! That is why we rely on God and His grace to help us to combat temptation. I think you don't really understand what it means to be born again, I am not dissing when I say this, just by what you are saying it seems to me that you are confused by this - Being born again is what I said before - believing that Jesus died and rose again for your sins and accepting Him as your personal Lord and Saviour. After you have realised what God has done, you will learn to trust him more, love him more and try and live a life that is pleasing to him. But we are human, and will make mistakes and will sin, that is offical. None of us are blameless and that is what is so amazing about God's grace. Also, we will have doubts, but what God looks for is how we react to those doubts, do we turn from him and decide to do our own thing or do we lean not on our understanding but look to God to strengthen us? Remember, that God is in charge of this universe no matter how bad things get, and remember, that He has a purpose for your life; plans to give you a hope and a future and not to harm you. He is for you, not against you. He loves you. And everything is done for His glory!!! Amen!!!

If you were born again you would not sin.

Read 1 John.

I can't understand how anyone can use the grace of God to justify the fact that they go on sinning.

If you believed what Jesus said, you would act on that faith, EG. utterly denying yourself, taking up you cross(crucifying the flesh/dying to yourself), following him(doing as he did), devoting yourself to prayer, good deeds...

DEAD TO SELF(sin) AND ALIVE TO GOD

Am I the only person in the world that percieves that one has to give up their life to follow Christ?

I will no longer bother posting, seeing as everyone resists the truth.

Repent and believe. That's what I'm going to do.

God bless.

Sorry but Grace and Faith are NOT the same thing. Nor, by definition can grace be earned through mourning, prayer, or fasting. Grace is unmerited favor, while faith is believing.

I'm am not yet Born Again, but I can't wait until that happens! It is written in the Bible about being baptised, how John the Baptist submerges people in the water. When Jesus was Baptised, the heavens opened up and God spoke to Jesus. How awesome is that?!?

I was baptised when I was a baby, but now after learning thru the Bible the true meaning of Baptism, I can't wait to be Born Again :-)

I'm with Dawn on this one.

I've always believed, but my childlike, unquestioning 'beliefs' became true faith when I turned round and asked myself 'how?' and 'why?' This might be the time that some describe as 'born again' but I'd just call it 'growing up'

Water baptism is a beautiful metaphor, and I may seek it myself in the future. But It is not essential - it signifies cleansing of sin... but baptised Christians continue to sin. I stick with my image of it as a beautiful and very meaningful metaphor.

I was raised United Methodist, and my mother tried to take me to church as often as possible when I was young. By the time I hit my teens, I had many questions about Genesis and the Bible that weren't getting answered, so I turned to science for answers. At 14, I announced to my dad that I was an atheist. (He told me I didn't know what I was talking about.) I continued in my atheism and my belief in evolution for the next 20 years. In my early twenties, I became quite the little feminazi; in addition to being an atheistic evolutionist, I was also strongly "pro-choice" - but only because somebody else told me that pro-lifers want to "take away my ability to control my own body", which I swallowed hook, line and sinker. By my early 30's, God started working on me. He led me to an anti-abortion website so I could see for myself exactly what I had been supporting for 10 years. I then became pro-life, although I was still an atheist. Then God took the next step. I met my ex-fiance who was a Catholic, and we debated the existence of God a lot. One day, he and his family took me to their church where his niece was being baptized. I looked around and saw many people on their knees praying. I felt like these people knew something that I didn't. I took a chance, knelt in the pew and prayed, "God, if you're there, please help me understand. I don't understand how all these people seem to have the Holy Spirit. Why can't I feel the Holy Spirit? Please help me." When I got up, I felt a sense of relief. When the priest began his homily, it was about "how to get the Holy Spirit"! Tears came to my eyes and I thanked God profusely. I felt bad about how I had treated Him for so long, and I wanted to make up for it. I started attending church more often, and I wanted to get involved in pro-life work, picketing Planned Parenthood clinics and the like. I began to find my ministry for God - I felt like I had a real purpose in life. After I broke up with that boyfriend, I gradually left the Catholic church for something more non-denominational. After discovering that the Catholic Church had been responsible for changing the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday in 325 AD (which they had no right to do - God never changed the Sabbath), I began attending a 7th-day adventist church, which I still attend. Recently, God finished the work on me that He had started. Although I was a Christian, I had still been struggling with evolution, because I believed the evidence was just too overwhelming. I tried to merge Genesis with evolution, but couldn't quite succeed. My pastor showed me a series of seminars by a Dr. Kent Hovind on Creation Science. This guy made a lot of sense! More sense than even the theory of evolution, and I had used every argument in the book against creationists in my atheist years. I had always said that if somebody could justify creationism scientifically using pre-existing laws, I would believe it. Well, this guy did it. I have now abandoned the theory of evolution in favor of young-earth creationism, and I am much more satisfied now. I feel like a complete Christian. It's amazing that in just a few years I have done such a 180. I am writing this in the hopes that some atheist who is just like I was will hear my testimony and think about it.

That's a lovely story, luvdalz!

It really gives me hope in Christianity when I hear such heart-warming stories - I have huge love for Christ and his Church, but have developed a touch of cynicism where 'born again' Christians are concerned - so many of them are enamoured with themselves and fail to live by Christ's true teachings, instead coming across as selfish, patronising, presumptious and hypocritical. I hope there are more like you out there, and that my faith in 'Born again Christianity' will continue to grow!

I am so saddened by those who post that they don't know if they are saved, they tried to be saved, they prayed the prayer, etc. and still don't feel saved. Remember that Satan tries to convince us that we are not worthy of salvation and therefore are not saved. Then the Kingdom of God is robbed of our work! I was saved 2 years ago after the death of my husband. I felt driven to attend church and read the Bible. Through this I felt a joy like nothing I had ever felt before. My sis-in-law told me that this was the Holy Spirit working in me and I never looked back. I can't tell you the day I was saved because it was more subtle than that, but I love the Lord most of all now, can't wait for heaven to see Jesus in person, constantly pray that the Holy Spirit will convict me of my sin so that I can eliminate it from my life. (Lots of work left to do in this area!!!) and I am currently searching for a missions position as a second career! Thank you Jesus!

You need to be born again: born of the Spirit, to truly know Christ and to be saved. One can know ABOUT Christ and even be "religious" without being born again, but thats not the same. Once you're born again, God gives you a new nature & transforms your mind.....

Bless You! Yes! I am, A Born again Jesus said these words in Matthew 18:3-EXCEPT YE BE CONVERTED, AND BECOME AS LITTLE CHILDREN, YE SHALL NOT ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.

Though we have another condition on entering heaven. WE (1) must be converted, and (2) we must become as little children. When we are born the second time, born of the Spirit, a conversion takes place in our attitude. By faith we begin to overcome all things. Our attitude changes. We begin to love the Word of God. We begin to hate sin and every evil way. We become converted from doing our will, to doing the will of God, and we must become as little children. In other words, our attitude must become childlike. we begin receiving correction as a little child from the Word of God. We quit striving about the Word of God. We quit being contentious regarding the Word of God, and receive God’s Word in a humble, meek, childlike attitude. We begin to let Jesus reign over us. Whatever we do should be compared with the Word of God. Few people will allow God’s Word to reign over them. They want their own way. They perish. We must be born-again. We must be converted. We must become as a little child, who receives correction from his parents gladly and willingly. We must do God’s will, or perish.

Yours In Him, Betsy

Hey all and God bless!

I've definitely been "born again," or "born from above" (gennatha anothen) - that is, "born of water and the Spirit" (John 3:5), which the early Church Fathers interpreted in consensus as water Baptism.

In Christ,
Sheridan

24th May 2004, 07:40 PM
Sheridan, yeah I like the born of water and the Spirit :) My middle name is born again, literally, or at least that's what it means, but that's not why I'm born again. I love the story of Nicodemus and being born again. "But how can a full grown man go through his mother's womb again..." He didn't quite get it then. But my youth pastor thinks he was the only, or one of the few Pharisees that later became saved. I dunno, but I think he became saved, I hope so.

Being reborn in Christ is knowing that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior and accepting Him into your life as just that, your personal Savior. Being baptized comes AFTER salvation, where you then testify your faith in Christ, and by being obedient you follow after Christ's example.

And yes, I am definitely a Child of God...what an awesome gift! =)

By the grace of God, yes!

By natural means we are born of the flesh, and brought into being in this physical world. By the grace of God through Christ Jesus we are born into the Spirit by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in us. This is our 'second birth' our birth into the spiritual world symbolically shown by many by water baptism.

i'm born again, but its truly a new life. after living in the world for so long, you adjust to its ways, when you are born out of death and into life, you have to learn to live all over again. things that once satisfied are now dead, and things that were once fall-backs are now empty and meaningless. walking in the grace of God changes everything, take worry for instance: if something is going wrong, you can't really worry about it anymore, knowing things such as God provides for the flowers and birds and they do not worry about tomarrow, how much more will He take care of us who He created to be in fellowship with Him? knowing that, worrying dosn't really work anymore, but i'm so used to falling back into it, have to learn to walk differently now. it is truly being "born again," and you have to learn to live all over again.

a word to those just starting out: it is not an easy road, the further in you get the more the world dies (or is revealed as being dead already is more like it), sometimes you will want to go back, but you cannot because of how far you have progressed and what you have learned. pray, read the bible, and most of all seek fellowship with others truly following God.

God bless you all

I believe that I have been born again because I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

I still suffer through the same temptations as before (sometimes even stronger than before) but I think that I have finally, with His help, that I am able to resist and not give into them. I am so glad of this.

I still need to make some changes though with my life, which includes learning more about God and reading the Bible more often

To be born again is to be baptized (water) and recieved the Holy Ghost (spirit).

Not meaning to offend anyone, but no where in the bible does it say you are born again if you have accepted Christ as your savior. Accepting Christ as your savior makes you a follower of Christ, or a Christian, but it doesn't give you salvation.

Read John chapter three. It's really easy to understand and gives a good look at what being born again means. Physically one birth is enough(more than enough for some people). But spiritually it is much easier to be born again. I wouldn't say living is any easier, but being born is an experience that you don't want to miss(believe me!!);)

I'm confused.
What's the point of making Christ our saviour if we don't get saved? I think that accepting Christ as Lord and Savior is how we are born again, and therefore how we are saved.

I have accepted Jesus as my Savior and I have the Holy Spirit in me but I do not call it that. I believe in God, I know God and I love God. 'Tis a wonderful life and I do not have to call it that.

Absolutely! Confronting the Holy Spirit in your place of work doesn't leave much room for total submission.

John 3:3. To be a Christian is to be born again. And it cannot be described.
