Question for all staff

I'm curious, staff, how much time you spend on CF doing your job? Does it consume a lot of your day? Do most of you have full time jobs? Is it those with the more popular forums that are the busiest? Thanks for your input here :hug:

It depends on the day how much time I spend on CF doing CF work. Generally anywhere between 1-6 hours, either all at once or through several logons during the day.

And that does not include the CF work I do while offline. And yes, I do CF stuff while offline. :)

I do have a full-time job. There's usually some downtime here...or at least time when I'm doing something and can take a break every so often to do CF stuff. So I do spend most of my CF time at work. It also helps that I have a T3 line here and it's much better than dial-up at home. ;)

Regularly, I'm probably here around 3 - 5 hrs a day. During the week days I'm able to be on only during my lunch and breaks and that generally does not allow for too much modding...depending on what's going on in the different forums.

Does it consume a lot of your day?
No, it consumes most of my nights. http://www.wdisneyw.com/forums/images/smilies2004/tongue.gif I don't get home from work until somewhere between 7:30 - 8:30. Because of the price of gas I try to do any errends on the way home. When I get into the community I live in I stop and get my mail, get home and have two stray cats comeing running out to meet me 'cause they know I'm a sucker for a sad face and will feed them, so I do, then I get into my house and my cat wants to be fed then I turn on the comp, get on CF, read my emails, and cook my own dinner. I'm trying to get other things done too though. Sometimes I am on way too long and late.

Yup! And right now is our busy season so I'm working at least 9 hrs a day and on Saturdays.

Which are the most popular? I spend most my time in the Charismatic forum. But I'm also in the Messianic the Non -Denominational, just to name a few.

it varies, but some days I'm here for a total of 2 to 3 hours, some days, just an hour (rarely but sometimes even less).

Does it consume a lot of your day?
YES, but I do it because it is a ministry for me, I enjoy it, and enjoy feeling like I contribute to something worthwhile. I believe we all should volunteer our time in some ministry, for me, I volunteer here and am a volunteer chaplain a couple days a week at the local hospital.

Do most of you have full time jobs? I am a full time pastor in the United Methodist Church, married to a full time pastor; we have two kids, ages 2-1/2 and 7 months, and I am a part time student, taking classes in Biblical languages.

lol, well, depends on what you mean by "popular,";)
but yes, forums with a lot of posters, a lot of threads, and a lot of posts are the busiests. However, one may have a couple of really busy fora, while someone else has a dozen that don't require as much time. Additionally, the staff levels (heirarchy) means different levels of workload as well, so an Archmod may moderate less, but spend a lot of time doing other tasks.

I'm probably on CF between 2 and 4 hours daily...sometimes more (but don't tell my hubby that ;) ). I have a 24/7 job, lol...I'm a stay at home mommy. My 6 year old is in 1st grade and she's gone most of the day for school. I have a 4 year old who's home with me all day at the moment, but she'll be starting preschool in October. So, I'm on CF in between washing dishes and doing laundry...and of course, entertaining my little one. I'm offline afternoons through bedtime. Most of the time I get online for an hour or so after my kiddies fall asleep, but my hubby likes to snuggle so sometimes he won't let me get back online at all, lol.

I don't really have any high traffic forums (forums that generate LOTS of reports), but I have several medium traffic forums...I usually have 3-5 reports a day.

Doing my mod job I usually spend about 1-3 hours a day on CF. I usually don't skip days because then that leaves me with a bunch of reports to answer or in which I need to put my opinion. But right now I'm just volunteering a lot while I'm looking for a full time job, so I have lots of flex time during the day to work on CF. It seems to be that those in the forums with the most debating get the most reports, but I don't have any of those forums. I have a few medium-weight forums so there can certainly be a flood of reports, just not all the time!

And I'm rather new on staff so I'm still in the learning process!
