Questions about a healing Eucharist prayer list, and contacting a priest.

I sprained my ankle today. Pretty badly, and it really hurts at times, but it's getting better. My question is, Would it be alright to have my name on the prayer list for our healing Eucharist tommorrow night, and would it be inappropriate to contact my parish preiest?

Prayer is not a limited resource, to be doled out by the eyedropperful. Contact your priest. I'll put you on my list for tomorrow morning.

The honest truth is becouse many of the people on that list are people that have diseases, etc. I have a sprained ankle.

Some of the people on my list are refugees whose family are dying of starvation in the Sudan, while they themselves are trying to cope with post-traumatic stress of their own and family's imprisonment and torture. Some, on the other hand, are recovering from clean operations in fully-funded well-equipped hospital wards with their family supportively standing around.

All suffering is relative. Just because you can find someone worse-off, doesn't mean that we shouldn't pray for those who are suffering only a little.

Benedictine, all I can do is paraphrase what my rector told me. "Don't feel embarassed about calling for something you consider to be minor. I'm your priest and I don't consider anything that happens to you to be minor."
