ok so I'm down loading different Bible Versions for my IPAQ and I was wondering what made certain versions different.

Young's Literal Translation
Rotherham's
Weymouth NT Translation
JPS 1917

I just like to compare all the different translations, but if these are of no value I'll not bother using up the memory. I'd look them up online but I'm at work and I don't have that much free time :) (almost) Thanks in advance.

Each version has its strengths and weaknesses. The only version which you listed that I am familiar with is the Young's. I would strongly endorse this translation as a valuable study tool. i use it quite often to get to the original meaning and feel of certain verses and passages. Sorry I can't help you with the others.

There is also another literal version out that I just recently found. It is called the Literal Translation Version or LITV. The words are slightly updated as compared to Young's.

Could a mod please make the preemptive announcement that this is NOT a second KJVO debate thread? :)

One is quite enough.

Thanks :)

I rather like Young's. But I haven't heard of the others. Not so long ago, I used eight Bibles in parallel for the purposes of in-depth study, but I have found that AKJV, NAS, Concordant, Literal and Greek interlinear to be every bit as useful as all eight.

I would load LIT. I have not heard of the other 3.
