What is the Orthodox view of Hinduism? Do Orthodox view the Hindu "gods" as demons or just as imaginary creations?

My guess would be that it's a little of both- some demons, some imaginary, all false. I don't know of any official sources on the matter- though I'm certain there are some.

Yeah it's a mix of things. Obviously the gods of the nations are demons-- but there is a lot of philosophy in Hinduism that comes from the basic striving of man for God. There's an interesting version of apophaticism in Hinduism, and also a sense of awesome theophany. Obviously their philosophy needed to come in contact with the revelation of Christ to have any meaning, but there is a lot in it that is interesting.
