Anyone go to a church that does dedication ceremonies for adults, like someone who wants to dedicate themselves to living for Christ?

I'm not talking about ordinations or baptisms, but something that is done for a person who has been saved awhile and now wants to dedicate him/herself to Christ.

Would that be anything like a rededication of your life to Jesus Christ?

If so, my church does...because I did it.

Yeah, like that. But meant for people who didn't necessarily stray or fall away, but just want to make a deeper commitment to God.

What was your rededication like?

Mine was rather simple....and it was because I had fallen away. But the same service used could be for someone who wanted to make that deeper commitment to God.

It was part of the service, and it was almost like a baptism (meaning the questions asked were the same) except there was one that specifically mentioned my rededication to Christ. I answered the questions along with my sponsor, who was a woman in the Bible study where I discovered what was going on with my Christian life. Then my pastor and my sponsor laid hands on me and I was rededicated.

It was really great for me, because I was going into my senior year of college...pretty much an adult, and I had this whole new perspective of Christ which I didn't have before. So I felt it was an appropriate time to do what I did.

In the Bible that would be baptism. :)

That's when the apostles taught that your sins were forgiven and you were born again. (Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3-4, 1 Peter 3:21, Mark 16:16, etc., etc.)

I have attended quite a few churches since we move a lot and I have not seen this before. I think wanting a deeper relationship with God is a wonderful thing. If openly rededicating oneself to God in a ceremony helps, I am all for it. But, I do not think it is necessary for all.
