Belinda: I have never heard of the uniting church. However, I have been in my share of Baptist churches. I will be happy to tell you what I know about them.

Well i started going to Uniting coz it was the closest church to me...
I dont think theres much difference, major difference anyway, i mean they both believe in the same God and read the bible and get baptized and stuff, Im not too worried really, I know quite a efw people who have gone from the uniting church to Baptist..
Now i just have to get the guts to go there lol

Belinda: If doctrine is the deciding factor I recommend your getting a copy (I think it is available online) of the Baptist Confession of 1679 (date?). Next I would see if the Uniting church has a statement of faith / doctrinal statement / articles of faith. It will give you the 411 on what they believe about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Salvation, End Times etc.
If they dont have such an item, I would be wary. Even if they do, I recommend your seeking God's direction. It is important and you are wise to inquire.
