I've been wondering, why most of the time, when talking about what Jesus did for us, do they leave out either the death, or the resurrection?
It seems to me that whenever a minister/priest talks about the conquering of sin at the cross, they fail to mention the conquering of death at the resurrection... Why is this?

Because the "West" simply places more emphasis on the Crucifixion. It is my opinion that this contributed chiefly to the "God is dead" mentality of Western philosophers such as Nietzsche.

Devin, another good reason to consider Orthodoxy! We never talk about either in the liturgy of the Church without mentioning the other. The one who loved us with death into life, "trampling down death by death"-- this is the Orthodox faith. :)

Because they are quite simply not Orthodox. The beauty of Orthodoxy is that everything in Orthodoxy neatly fits together into an organic whole. You can't have the death of Christ mean anything without the Resurrection.
