When you grow up, are you going to be editor-in-chief of a real-life newspaper?

Not in a million years ;). When I grow up ( i'm 18 now btw ) , I am going to be a Missionary To Africa and parts of Isreal. My specialty is going to be in Medicine within missions.

So, you are going to be a doctor?
Have you been on any medical missions?

Why? I am wondering why you chose these parts of the world.

Unless there's a personal reason you don't want to disclose :)

Lori, the title says "members"...;)

I see you have the Amplified Bible as part of your CF character - is that the version you use at home? :)

Oh, ok...then I'll stay put, then. I use the Amplified for reading, and for study I use the NASB (couldn't find in NIV version) Inductive Study Bible. I like the Amplified because of possible different interpretations of a scripture derived from Greek, Hebrew or Aramic. I self-studied Greek very briefy, and wished I had more discipline to keep it up.
The NASB Inductive Study Bible...I need a bit of discipline also to keep up marking, writing, and figuring out the scriptures. I was able to study Phileomon, Jude, and now 2 John. I'm working from the smallest book up to the largest book, so it doesn't overwhelm me. I don't like the NASB version/interpretation...and if I could, I'd love to have NIV Study Bible, but money dictates that I get the NASB...cuz it's cheaper. *shrugs*

Interesting you say that the NASB's less expensive than the NIV for you...over here in Australia, the NASB's fairly uncommon, hence is a fair bit more expensive than a NIV Study Bible (which in itself is probably the best selling bible in Oz...) I have one, plus a heap of other versions that I've picked up in my time as a Christian bookshop worker. I find the Amplified quite interesting and the way it subtly gives different interpretations is something I find good about it :)

Hmm...I'll have to research the pricing on both books...but I do remember NIV's costing more, at least by $10 than what NASB costs. Plus, the NASB was more common, because, naturally, it's American. LOL Too late now, my study bible's marked up. LOL

I've always had a heart for tribes and the indigenous people. Africa was choosen because of that. And Pray4Isrel inspired me to go to Isreal to help the effort and help in medicine over there.

with your humble opinion, why do you like NASB? How do you feel about its own interpretation?

I'm not sure really :D, i prefer the NKJV to the NASB - theres some NASB verses i've recently found are really bothering in comparision and study, hehe. NASB is just like second nature to me, i really can't stand the NIV.

*Jules is weird :D

ah, I thought so.... I knew some of NASB's interpretation leaves much to be desired at times. :P

I don't think you're weird at all....you're one cool chick....

I've ceased using one Bible. I check everything against two other versions, one of which is always the KJV.

Any Questions?

Do you find communicating via posts, volunteers that have varied commitments, varied schedules, and such extending what may be perceived as the deadline for the Newspaper?
That is more of a question about frustrations that may exist with conditions rather than the fine people that make up the paper BTW.

Well, it is hard to work in making articles and having a life/posting on cf/all the other things you do. So I really can't get to frustrated , but I hope they will get it in on time :).

Sorry, Jenda. I don't have a question (so far). But that is due to the fact that I don't have my full amount of coffee infusion.

The little cells up there are still dozing ... and some even snoring ;)
