I would try "vegetarian pet food" and maybe any of those food items that don't have a pet's name (avoid "dog treat", "cat treat", "for your snail").

Let me know if this works ... if not, I'll reimburse you. If yes, I add this quickly to the faq.

Is there anyway we can see what the new pets look like...I'm considering changing my pet type but I wanna see what they look like first...

You can see the new pets on the create a pet page! It was really hard for me to choose. The only thing you cannot see will the pet in the color you choose.

when you already have a pet...you can't create another one...it just has options to choose from...like change pet name...change pet gender...change pet color...change pet type...no pictures or anything:(

No you don't have to get rid of your pet...you can change the pet type...it costs 500 blessings to do that...I did...then I changed the name...and the gender...ended up costing more than a new pet would but I still got to keep the age of my pet...

No, you can turn Mr FreezePop into a monkey or snake and he stays with you in a different form :)

I guess one could call it like that.

A CF pet owner has the option / possibility to change the pet type. I adopted my pet (he was a cat) and after a while I turned it into a dog.

It's the same pet (well, I changed the color a couple of times and the name once) in the sense that I did not give back/up the pet I adopted. I just made changes to it.
