I have a funny coffee-related story to tell:

During Fall Break, I kept getting up at 4 a.m. and needing coffee, which I didn't have, so I decided to go to Wal-Mart at 6 a.m. one morning to get some coffee.

I had been by the coffee aisle many times before, but I had never ground beans up myself and put them in a bag, so I was pretty much in the dark on how to do it; that's when I decided to wing it. I pulled a bag from the others, filled it TO THE TOP with "Pumpkin Spice" (holiday flavour!) coffee beans, and dumped them into the grinder. When the bag was full the machine kept grinding. "Dear Lord, that's a lot of coffee!" I said, so I stopped the grinder. I had to pur some of the ground coffee out because my bag was too full, and some fell in the floor. Worst of all, someone must have gotten a "Pumpkin Spice" blend with some other coffee later on, because there were still alot of the beans left in the grinder!

After purchasing my coffee and was at home happily drinking a cup, I noticed that it had measurements of where to fill it full of beans to. 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 bag was printed on the side of it, and I realized that I had been to sleepy to pay attention to the detail that morning. I felt bad because I left those beans in the grinder, too.

I just had to share it because it seemed funny. ^_^

Hello I'm new here. I live in the USA in Florida and I'm a nurse. I'm a Christian wife mother of 2 grown children and grandmother of 1. This is a neat site. It will take me months to figure it all out. I've referred 4 people..or at least did the referral thing through this site to send them emails. If we want to make a 1 time monetary donation instead of a continuing donation how does that work? I went to the place for contributions but it only has a drop down menu for 1 month 3 months etc. No place I found for one time donation.:scratch: And do I have to use PayPal or can I just use credit card?

I showered and shaved.............. I adjusted my tie.
I got there and sat.............. In a pew just in time.

Bowing my head in prayer......... As I closed my eyes.
I saw the shoe of the man next to me.. Touching my own. I sighed.

With plenty of room on either side...... I thought,

"Why must our soles touch?"
It bothered me, his shoe touching mine...

But it didn't bother him much.

A prayer began: "Our Father"............. I thought,

"This man with the shoes.. Has no pride.
They're dusty, worn, and scratched.

Even worse, there are holes on the side!"

"Thank You for blessings," the prayer went on.
The shoe man said.............. A quiet "Amen."
I tried to focus on the prayer.......

But my thoughts were on his shoes again

Aren't we supposed to look our best.. When walking through that door?
"Well, this certainly isn't it," I thought, Glancing toward the floor.


Then the prayer was ended........... And the songs of praise began.
The shoe man was certainly loud...... Sounding proud as he sang.

His voice lifted the rafters......... His hands were raised high.
The Lord could surely hear.. The shoe man's voice from the sky.

It was time for the offering......... And what I threw in was steep.
I watched as the shoe man reached.... Into his pockets so deep.

I saw what was pulled out........... What the shoe man put in.
Then I heard a soft "clink" . As when silver hits tin.

The sermon really bored me.......... To tears, and that's no lie
It was the same for the shoe man..... For tears fell from his eyes.

At the end of the service........ As is the custom here
We must greet new visitors.. And show them all good cheer.

But I felt moved somehow............. And wanted to meet the shoe man
So after the closing prayer......... I reached over and shook his hand.

He was old and his skin was dark..... And his hair was truly a mess
But I thanked him for coming......... For being our guest.

He said, "My names' Charlie......... I'm glad to meet you, my friend."
There were tears in his eyes......... But he had a large, wide grin

"Let me explain," he said........... Wiping tears from his eyes.
"I've been coming here for months.... And you're the first to say
'Hi.'"


"I know that my appearance........"Is not like all the rest
"But I really do try................"To always look my best."

"I always clean and polish my shoes.."Before my very long walk.
"But by the time I get here........."They're dirty and dusty, like
Chalk."

My heart filled with pain............ And I swallowed to hide my tears
As he continued to apologize......... For daring to sit so near.

He said, "When I get here..........."I know I must look a sight.
"But I thought if I could touch you.."Then maybe our souls might
Unite."


I was silent for a moment............ Knowing whatever was said
Would pale in comparison... I spoke from my heart, not my head.

"Oh, you've touched me," I said......"And taught me, in part;
"That the best of any man............"Is what is found in his heart."

The rest, I thought,................ This shoe man will never know.
Like just how thankful I really am... That his dirty old shoe touched

The "jobs" are just a way to earn blessings. You don't have to do anything but post and collect your salary once a week. (If you don't collect it, it doesn't add up, it just sits there at the set amount of blessings till you collect it. So collect it every week. :) ) When you have enough posts to move up to the next job, after you have collected your salary at the end of the week, you can leave the current job and take the next job.

Hey Guys and Girls. I really need some help right now. It is 3 in the morning and no one is online but I will check back in the afternoon. The reason this is so early is because im confused and cant sleep. Ok so I have 2 problems on my mind. One, I love to sing it is like my life and I was in a musical this summer which you didnt have to audition for. Alot of my friends who have heard me (which is only like 5) have said Im pretty good but then when I recorded myself about 2 hours back just to hear myself I was HORRIBLE!!! But see I am confused because it seems no one likes thier own voice so i cant tell if im good or not but singing truely is my passion. Do you have any suggestions?
Two, Im having troubles in my faith with God right now I can't exactly find any signs that he is out there and Im very lost when it comes to that. If you guys and girls could just pray that I find a sign for that and then write back about singing that would be amazing thank you very much.

<DIV id=post_message_36689575>The other day I went to the edit/options section of my webpage here on CF.

I was checking something out.

I started getting emails sent to me by CF telling me that other members were making posts to the 56 or so threads I visited recently. I started getting 24 emails at a time. I am still getting those emails.

I thought there may have been an error made when I was at edit/options so I went there again & I have been there several times.

Anytime there are posts to any of the threads I've visited I get emails about it . During heavy online traffic times I am getting emails coming in to my personal email acct. on my outlook express (a business email address) rather rapidly. Lots of deletions because the messages is always the same ---> someone just posted a reply on one of those threads.

I went to some of the threads and asked if anyone else had it happen to them. They told me to once again check and make sure my edit/options had the spot checked that made sure I did not want to receive emails -- I checked it again. NO EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS is the thing I have checked.

I sent a message to one of the people at CF that helped me with a problem before. She told me to post a message on the how to forum because as far as she knew the checking of the spot that says NO EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS and then saving my changes should take care of the situation.

I am posting this because I don't know what to do next.

I am not getting emails at nearly 2 AM possibly because most of the people that post on the threads I've been using are not online right now. This isn't a normal hour for them to be posting.

ORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.... finally the system found out I didn't ask for those emails and I don't want them.

IF anyone knows what I can do to get this repaired please leave a message here or send a message my way.

I was told to post the problem openly to see if CF staff or anyone else could be helpful.

I don't know much about whether or not someone has installed a cookie on my computer to spy on me or not. Since you mentioned that here I will see if I can get someone to look at it at my home for me.

I did want the staff to be aware of it because I thought emails coming from them (they are emails generated from CF) would be able to be stopped by them. Apparently they simply have not realized I checked the NO EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS Spot yet.

Go to your control panel and on the left, click "edit options". about halfway down it says "default thread subscription mode." It will probably say "instant email notification." Change it to whichever of the other options you prefer & the emails will cease.

This particular relative has already registered on another board I frequent, and launched an 'attack' on me. Unless I've got this thing all wrong, your stalker won't follow you to church. Do you have a church close by? Are you maybe disabled, I'm disabled in a wheel chair, church is 30 miles away but theres safety in numbers so why not find a ride and rid yourself of your problem.:scratch:

After my last post I checked my mail and this is what I found.
After tossing her books on the sofa, she decided to grab a snack and get on-line. She logged on under her screen name ByAngel213. She checked her Buddy List and saw GoTo123 was on. She sent him an instant message:

Meanwhile.......GoTo123 went to the member menu and began to search for her profile. When it came up, he highlighted it and printed it out. He took out a pen and began to write down what he knew about Angel so far.

Her name: Shannon
Birthday: Jan. 3, 1985
Age: 13
State where she lived: North Carolina

Hobbies: softball, chorus, skating and going to the mall. Besides this information, he knew she lived in Canton because she had just told him. He knew she stayed by herself until 6:30 p.m. every afternoon until her parents came home from work. He knew she played softball on Thursday afternoons on the school team, and the team was named the Canton Cats. Her favorite number 7 was printed on her jersey. He knew she was in the eighth grade at the Canton Junior High School . She had told him all this in the conversations they had on- line. He had enough information to find her now.

Shannon didn't tell her parents about the incident on the way home from the ballpark that day. She didn't want them to make a scene and stop her from walking home from the softball games. Parents were always overreacting and hers were the worst. It made her wish she was not an only child. Maybe if she had brothers and sisters, her parents wouldn't be so overprotective.

By Thursday, Shannon had forgotten about the footsteps following her.

Her game was in full swing when suddenly she felt someone staring at her. It was then that the memory came back. She glanced up from her second base position to see a man watching her closely.

He was leaning against the fence behind first base and he smiled when she looked at him. He didn't look scary and she quickly dismissed the sudden fear she had felt.

After the game, he sat on a bleacher while she talked to the coach. She noticed his smile once again as she walked past him. He nodded and she smiled back. He noticed her name on the back of her shirt. He knew he had found her.

Quietly, he walked a safe distance behind her. It was only a few blocks to Shannon's home, and once he saw where she lived he quickly returned to the park to get his car.

Now he had to wait. He decided to get a bite to eat until the time came to go to Shannon's house. He drove to a fast food restaurant and sat there until time to make his move.

Shannon was in her room later that evening when she heard voices in the living room.

"Shannon, come here," her father called. He sounded upset and she couldn't imagine why. She went into the room to see the man from the ballpark sitting on the sofa.

"Sit down," her father began, "this man has just told us a most interesting story about you."

Shannon sat back. How could he tell her parents anything? She had never seen him before today!

"Do you know who I am, Shannon ?" the man asked.

"No," Shannon answered.

"I am a police officer and your online friend, GoTo123."

Shannon was stunned. "That's impossible! GoTo is a kid my age! He's 14. And he lives in Michigan !"

The man smiled. "I know I told you all that, but it wasn't true. You see, Shannon , there are people on-line who pretend to be kids; I was one of them. But while others do it to injure kids and hurt them, I belong to a group of parents who do it to protect kids from predators. I came here to find you to teach you how dangerous it is to talk to people on-line. You told me enough about yourself to make it easy for me to find you. You named the school you went to, the name of your ball team and the position you played. The number and name on your jersey just made finding you a breeze."

Shannon was stunned. "You mean you don't live in Michigan ?"

He laughed. "No, I live in Raleigh . It made you feel safe to think I was so far away, didn't it?"

She nodded.

"I had a friend whose daughter was like you. Only she wasn't as lucky. The guy found her and murdered her while she was home alone. Kids are taught not to tell anyone when they are alone, yet they do it all the time on-line. The wrong people trick you into giving out information a little here and there on-line. Before you know it, you have told them enough for them to find you without even realizing you have done it. I hope you've learned a lesson from this and won't do it again. Tell others about this so they will be safe too?"

"It's a promise!"

That night Shannon and her Dad and Mom all knelt down together and thanked God for protecting Shannon from what could have been a tragic situation.
