That's the law of supply and demand. The more popular something is, the more you can ask for it.

Huh, well, I'll be blowed...black is cheaper than any color! Ah well....I'd be willing to pay more for my favorite color... ;) I'm wearing flip-flops cuz it's still summer....I'll be wearing shoes soon... if I can find a good pair of purple pumps...exactly in the same shade of those PURPLE flip-flops. ;)

I've been wearing flip flops all summer long too. I went to Payless Shoes a few months back and I got a really really cute pair of black flip floppy high heels shoes.. Oh they are the cutest ever but so very uncomfortable.
I go for cuteness over comfort any day ;)

ah, but I miss the days when I look like lady, dressed like a lady. :( Now I'm wearing slacks and low-heeled shoes, but I do try to dress like a lady. Most of the time, when my knees aren't behaving, I wear jeans and flat shoes. But I DO dress that I'd not be ashamed to wear to work in, and look like a lady. :)

true....but with *some* slacks, heels are a must...which I can't wear. So I have to be choosy... Oy, if I were a man, I'd love to just throw on some clothes and go, and not worry about matching or anything. :P

I don't even own a pair of shoes that could be called heels, lol. I have LOTS of cute sandals in various shades of brown and black, some with funky little "heels", BUT they're all very comfy. I wear jeans or capris the majority of the week and mini skirts once or twice a week. I have a few long skirts/dresses that I wear to church, but they all must be compatible with my brown/black, comfy sandals, lol.

I know, I'm such a SLOB!

And, I have really weird, short toes that make my feet completely incompatible with flip-flops. Now THAT'S pain. :help:

yeah my hair is of the thick type :D mine just a bit longer than shoulder length. such a pain in the bum. i just hate having thick frizzy curly hair. Another problem in the UK is finding hair products not tested on animals that help control that frizz. I use American! Doesnt test on animals but works well...

Thick hair is one of my traits that I don't like all that much - when I have a haircut, my hair always sticks up in a non-uniform manner, and I'm so quick to flatten it that I'll use my trusty baseball cap for the procedure :D

1Co 11:15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering

I adore atleast shoulder leangth hair on a young lady. (jmo tho')

And as for the somb-overs. They are gross, I mean come on its not that hard to shave the head. It does not even hurt! I should know I have been that way for over 4 months now (but it is getting coller so I am going to let it grow out). Plus I can sport my baptist Yamaka The bald spot on the top of my head and I am proud of it. (I mean no disrespect to my Jewish Brothers by that)

loribee59
13th October 2005, 09:07 PM
Tumbleweed, or anyone else:

found the recipe...! here it is:

This is a form of hot-spiced-cider from the German & Scandinavian areas. It's called "Wassel" (pronounced VAH-sel).

If you're making the whole recipe, you'll need a very large stock pot (at least 10 qts). But you don't need to make the whole recipe unless you're expecting a large crowd (it makes 7 quarts). Otherwise, half-recipe will usually do, and a 5-qt sauce pot will work. (As a side note, the aroma fills the house while it's cooking, so it's wonderful to have simmering while you're doing other things.)

Ingredients:
4 1/4 brown sugar
2 qts water
1 Tbsp whole cloves
6 sticks cinnamon
2 Tbsp chopped candied ginger ("sugar ginger" in the chinese food section) -- I don't care for ginger so I leave this out
2 qts orange juice
1 cup lemon juice
1 gallon cider

Boil water and brown sugar together. Add cloves, cinnamon, and candied ginger. Bring to boil again, then remove from heat and cover for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, strain the mixture. Add the remaining ingredients. Bring to boil again and serve hot.

Makes 7 qts; serves 28.

The message I was trying to post was:

Rhema

Source Scripture: Ephesians 6:17

"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God…."

Definition:

Rhema : (Greek), "that which is spoken, what is uttered in speech or
writing; a word or saying."

Additional comments:

Rhema is distinct from logos in that it does not just refer to the
Bible as a whole.

Instead, it refers to a revelation, word or insight from God through the
Holy Spirit concerning an individual scripture or series of scriptures.
Ephesians 6:17 says that the Word of God is the "sword of the Spirit."
Hence, rhema is the "revealed Word of God"-the insight revealed to
one's born-again spirit.

Additional scriptural references:

Logos

Source Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 2:13

"For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because,
when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye
received it not as the word of men, but as it is in the truth,
the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe."

Definition:

Logos: (Greek), "the expression of thought; word; account;
communication; or doctrine." Also, "The Personal Word," a title
of the Son of God; the personal manifestation of the whole deity
of Christ."

Additional comments:

Logos is often referred to as the "written Word of God."

Additional scriptural references: Mark 4:4; John 1:1-18;
Romans 10:17; 1 Corinthians 12:7-8

I'm still kinda new to this place, but I'm enjoying it so far. Although I mostly just hang around the RPG's, the Non-denominational forum, and Chat with ChrisBot (that robot is insane! ^_^).

Hello there! How are you tonight? :)

I'm a new member, so I'm not sure if I should be posting here, seeing as everyone here has high reputations, but I joined, I think, two days ago, and I love this site! It's interesting but Christian based. That's hard to find nowadays, that it is!

But anyway, with all due respect, you can call me Angel, Mr. Christmas, or whatever else you would like.

I'm looking forward to eternity with you all! ^_^

Welcome!
The reputation system is just for fun, and the comments members make when 'repping' are the very best part; the amount of points means little or nothing to the vast majority of us.

You may already be aware of this, but in case you haven't found it yet, your congregational 'home' (and mine), Wesley's Parish, is located here:
http://www.christianforums.com/f365-wesleys-parish-methodist-nazarene.html
Please feel free to start a thread introducting yourself there! I believe I can safely predict that everyone there will be very pleased indeed to make your acquaintance! :)

to me in my conviction seeing folks looking like the hippies back in the 70s make me wonder have these folks been born again ..to me when the heart is change to purity also should the ourward appearance .the scripture says that is a shame for a man to have long hair and you cannot take one word from the bible or add one word.. christian are to come out from worldy things such as styles and fashions that are not Godly...

That would be Wonderful. Jesus said that God has no respect of any man person..reguardless of his or her place in power..God dont make differance in people...it rains on the unjust as well as the justified...did you know that the very goodness of God to lost sinners somtimes causes them to become saved and converted...God could care less how nice of home you live in or what brand of clothes you wear or how good looking you are as a human beling... God looks inside the hearts of people and wants to see love inside ,,his love of course...The word of God quotes that God is love...and love likewise is God...

is this forum about growing and being christian or about dating and such things as that or what......
if it is just a place that is like the worldly stuff count me out on using it ok..be you holy says the lord as i man holy...this is a forum for community, chatting, fellowship, learning, praise, witnessing, discussion, debate - among numerous denominations and non-believers in mutual respect - with the vision of "uniting all Christians in one body." However, since the very first command of G-d was "be fruitful and multiply" I'd wager that there is some dating and even marriages that got their start from connections on this forum :D

This particular thread is about meeting and chatting with the various moderators and general posting membership :)

Hey Mr. "I think I'll resign while insaneinthebrain is out of the country!" How is everything?

Can I submit a response 3 months and 10 days after you asked me this? Please?? :D I'm well - just working my way through uni work. I'm not missing staffhood too much - God's certainly still calling me to focus on areas outside of here and I'm only doing the occasional posting thing around here. :) How about you - I note you're not of the S brigade...

And hullo everyone else!

I find today requires the knowlege that the United States has taken a course of perdition and is voting here in Long Beach in an arena that is not secret.
I write as what is required in the Bible and every day I see those that I envoked a petition to the congress that declared them the ones of perdition.
Such was done in 1776 by our for-fathers...John Adams is one that contributed to this...and I too after humbly petitioning Congress have been met with only repeated injury...and so has the Church's hold of Amendment I and amendmentIX of the bill of Rights as the abrogation of the law was ordered by the 9th as illegal since 1791...today is a sad day, as I proved what the law enforcement is ingaged in as the physics eleme ntary and it blasfemed the Church and Our Heavenly Father to be contrary to what the Declaration of 1776 states as one of Divine Providence.
Sincerely ,
George Ronald Adkisson

Hi, I am new here. You have so many threads and features, might anyone like to offer help to a visually-handicapped woman learn more about the computer and this website and how to use it? I would appreciate the help so much.

I need lifting up from Jesus' people.

For instance, I can't even seem to find my profile? And will subscribing to threads help? There are so many threads! I might need a buddy to help teach me all this. I am lost on the website right now.

Aww Gabs! *hugs* Thank you so much.. I think I keep stummbling in every area when it comes to God but then Jesus sends someone like you to remind me I'm not sooo horrible. :D

Your reputation points went up cause I think you're awesome so I clicked on upping your rep points (You can check out who reps you under the Control Panel... see the top of the page, and then scroll down about half away).

You WILL figure it out... just takes some time.

Just wanted to say hey to everyone. Perhaps some of you remember me from when I first joined but there may be others who have joined the staff since I've been away. If you don't know already, I'm Brian. Keep up the good work on the board. I'm sure it's a big job running a board this size.

Is anyone here from the Always Jaci board? Unless I'm mistaken, I thought one of my friends there said she's a mod here or something.

Hey, do you serve coffee here? If so, I would like a cup, please. :)
