I cannot sleep for the life of me. It is now 517  am and my brain is rolling along. I have been thinking about what it is to be a man (cf. 1 Cor 16:13). Im exhausted but this is not a bad thing to be stuck up thinking about.
1 Cor 16:13 "Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, and be strong." There comes a time in life when we realize that we must grow up, and in this society one grows up as fast as we need to. I would argue that to be a man of God we must begin right away. By the renewing of my mind and my continual transformation into the perfect image of Christ I am throwing off the secular worldview that was fed me for 18 years.
The way I view life, sex, marriage, relationships, and even politics is continuously transforming for the better. I am too exhausted to go into the details but I suspect that it is high time for myself, as well as many of my peers to throw off adolescent ways and start beccoming the biblical man God is calling us to be.
Now if God would just send a wife my way...:):prayer:
With that,
Good night.

Now if God would just send a wife my way.. that he hasn't is quite a blessing.
Some of your angst is probably derived from not knowing ware your going to be in 5 years, it was for me.
I don't know your educational status, but figuring out what end-goal i wanted in a career is what's given me a direction and helped me set aside most of the ruminations that kept me from sleeping.
RED that's ME

He will. Be ready to get married and he will send the right person your way at the right time. Just don't think to yourself, "I am worthy of someone prettier, or smarter, or richer or whatever, I'm going to let this woman go and wait for someone that has more than she does." God will send you the right women for YOU. She'll be a godly woman with similar dreams and a compatible mission in life. She'll like you for you. She'll feel like the completion of you.
One of my friends once told me that his father gave him this advice: Don't marry the woman you think you can live with, marry the one you don't think you can live without. It's common advice, but my friend never married (he's since passed away still a bachelor) and said that the reason he never married is that he was constantly looking for that woman he didn't think he could live without. God sent him several good godly women, women with similar dreams and missions, but because he never met the one that he felt he would die without, he kept looking for the one that was more, and better and greater. She never came along. God will send you the right woman, but you have to be on the look out for her so you don't inadvertantly toss her away.

:)
I didnt mean for the post to sound like a cry of desperation for marriage (although there are days) but I would like to engage in that area of manhood, that of setting up a godly household.

Everyone would. God created us to be want to form families and raise children. Your longings are completely normal and you are doing God's will when you feel like you should be finding someone to be married to and raise a family with. :)
