:help: I'm quite confused about the Sabbath and what you're supposed to do on it. I know it is suppoesed to be a day of rest however. But what is prohibited? Does God say exactly? I've heard you're not supposed to work and some also say such things as shopping and eating out are wrong as well. What about TV, cooking dinner, and playing games on the computer? Please could anyone help me out by posting some passages or general ideas or help? I'm very confused right now so I'd appreciate it greatly. I just recently decided to become a Christian and am starting to read through and study the Bible for the first time, so once again any help is greatly appreciated. :)

Whatever day you think the sabbath is, and however you practice it, keep in mind that it was made for man, not the other way around, so feel free :)

Also, read this verse:

colossians 2:16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

That's the one I was going to quote. So I'll just quote you!!

Under the new covenant we have theu Jesus we don't need to keep the sabbath laws anymore.

But it's good to take time off from work anyway!

Angel of Music:

In the old days, God said, "Do not do this and do not do that." But people continued to do that they were told not to do. So God sent his Son and removed their disobedience and guilt.

We are born after Jesus came. "What should I not do?" is a good way. But the better way is "Oh, what can I do for Jesus who died for me?" ""How can I please the Father who loves me so much?" Let your mind be moved by love.

Reading the Bible is an excellent way for the Sabbath. Ask God in prayer, "What more can I do for you?" He will point you in the right direction.
