How can I get more involved?

I want to serve the Lord more but the problem is that my church is very small and I rather do something outside my church but what can I do? I tried getting involved something in college but I almost got sucked into a cult. So I need something more close to God but safe as well. Let me know if you have any ideas or any websites so I know I can get involved.

What are you looking to be involved in in particular? How about missions or outreach in your area? I know you mentioned your church was small but maybe your minister could suggest some organisations etc. which you might be able to get involved with?

I don't want to get involved with anything in my church right now because were going through a hard time (long story). I wonder if theres like a christian outreach center or something so I can go help. I wouldn't mind voluntering my time to helping others in any area.

Look in your local paper. Ours has many ads from other churches and Christian groups needing volunteers. Try volunteering for a food bank or the salvation army or a thrift store. All those are great ways to work within the community in a Christian way. Soon enough shelters and soup kitchans will be filling up as the poor and homeless are trying to get out of the cold and get a meal, a soup kitchan is a lot of work but it's a great way to feel like your really doing something.
