Hello Everyone!
I was wanting to share with you all about a ministry. The founder and president of this ministry was at our church this morning. His name is Bro. Bob DeWitt of Solid Rock Youth Ministries. ( www.realhelpforteens.com (http://www.realhelpforteens.com/) )
His ministry deals obviously with the youth. The youth that he deals with are mainly the troubled (detention/jailed) teens. However, he will deal with any teen, troubled or not. His purpose is simple....expose the teens to the gospel. Alot of them have never even heard of the gospel. Their lives have centered around violence, drugs and gangs. Hard core teens that down deep inside just want to be loved. He mentioned in the service that "we (the family unit) needs to get back to the "manual" - the BIBLE!!!" Then be consistent with the youth, its so important for them. To feel loved and secure. (to be honest, we ALL need that ).
This man is a man of God wanting to serve Him. He had story after story of how the kids became under conviction of the Holy Spirit and he helped them come to the Lord. Can we please pray for him and his staff and the ministry? I think he can use all of the support he can get. He really touched my heart today and I just wished that we all could invest a bit more in our neighbors (teens, adults, co-workers....etc.) then we do. If we did, I know that our society would be so much different then what it is now. Luke 10: 27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.
