Are you lazy, if so how come, if not why not? Are you a living sacrifice?

I don't think posting always means lazy?? Now where was that verse in the Bible I used to use when I wanted to get out of washing dishes?? :D
Does anyone remember? Something about it is better to study than wash dishes..??? A Good trivia question!
If I feel that I am not keeping up with "other" household responsibilities, then I seem to have this tug.. to get off here and get busy! On the other hand I have had days where I am studying and it doesn't bother me to study over "folding laundry".
I guess for me it has to do with balance - as with everything. :)
I am not sure of the original question - living sacrifice? Could you elaborate a bit there?

Maybe the story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10: 38-42, in which Mary was studying at Jesus feet while Martha was busy serving everyone a meal and wanted Mary to help, but Jesus said that what Mary was doing was important?
Re the question of whether I am lazy, I heard a good sermon about that on TV tonight from Charles Stanley, and was wondering why I work hard, so the question is something I was thinking about. I hope it is because God's Word teaches me to work as if I am working for Jesus, and to be a good steward of what God has given us. I think a bad reason to work hard would be if I worked only to acquire riches or out of false pride in having an attractive yard or a clean house.

Actually, we physics majors don't know the meaning of the word lazy...except on weekends, semester breaks, and summer vacations.

You know, I was just thinking about this this week. I AM lazy. I'm very lazy. I've had a thyroid thing all my life which explains my lack of energy, but that doesn't explain why I'm so lazy.
I think it's because I take on too many things and since I can't do all of them, I end up not doing any of them because I'm just overwhelmed with all there is to do.
I need to prioritize and let go of some things so I can do other things well, but it's hard for me to do because I would love to stop cutting the grass every week so I can spend more time on the Bible-sending ministry, but then my neighbors would complain and think that Christians are lazy. Or I would love to not have to work so I could have the energy to get the ministry off the ground, but how would I pay my basic bills? By the time I come home from work every night, I'm too beat to even make supper and clean up. I have to do the routine things but then I don't have time for the eternal things.
If anyone has any advise on how to make this all work, let me know.

I don't think I am lazy. Though I don't have a job just yet. I clean up my apartment for once a week. Dusting, wiping the windows, bathroom and bedroom.
I also live underneath my parents. So I also take upon their chores since they got other busy and important things to do. Dad with two jobs and my mom who's life is the church and Jesus.
I also try to clean up their house once every two to three weeks.
I do their laundry, their dishes getting put-up from the dishwasher, and getting and taking out the garbage.

I've looked at this thread a few times, and have wanted to post a reply - but I just can't seem to get the energy up to invest in a clear reply. I just don't feel like it I suppose.

I would have to say yes and no to being lazy....
Work 2 jobs, take care of elderly parent, clean house, study and many other important things but I also schedule my laziness.... try to make sure at least once week or two have one whole day for me to play or just do nothing....
not sure what mean about living sacrifice ??? Please explain....

Though I don't have a real job yet!
I clean up my apartment once a week as well as wash my bedroom sheets.
I clean up my parents' house once every two to three weeks by dusting, vaccuming, cleaning the bathrooms and bedrooms.
I also put away dishes and take out the trash. As well as fold and put away the clothes.

great book "the myth of laziness"
fact is being lazy is usually related to some something that's blocking out-put, something that, once you think about it *or possibly get help figuring out* you can learn to move past.
btw it's taken me like... 5 years to have 1 year left in my four-year degree... but just did 24hours*8 classes* over the summer and am doing 7 classes now.
Are you a living sacrifice? nope.. but, i hope, that's because God's giving me a little time to build back up
like resting a 4 days between weight-lifting so that your mussels can rebuild.
