Just trying to display armor, but doesn't work

Hello. I've been gifted with a ladies dress coat, and had previously been able to display it. Now, I can't seem to, even though it SAYS it's equipped. I've even unequipped it, and equipped it again.

Is it still possible to equip a post with armor, such that it shows up on the right hand side, under one's blessings button and reputation button, etc.? If so, why isn't mine working?

have you checked to c if you have all of your body or what ever equipted?
if that is not all equipted nothing wil appear also you could try re equipting every thing

You can't display armory items like before. The entire system has been revamped so that we can display our items on characters. You'll need to purchase a character and the other 4 body parts (hair, eyes, mouth & eyebrows) and equip those before any clothing or other items will show as equipped.
